it's alright. it was sooo cheesy at parts, i just cringed instead of "awww"ing. there were a lot of cliches, but some cliches are an addition to the plot... however, this just kinda flopped for me. it was a little cute, and a little sad, but the characters were a little flat, and that just added to the overall scheme of the manga.
This is the first time for me to read something like this, so I can't tell you if there were many clichées. However, I thought that the story was quite rushed. Sometimes the main character seemed to change her opinion in a second. Was kind of unrealistic. Did not like the art that much, but could bear with it, however...
...with both people having a serious illness it was kind of exaggerated. Moreover, a funny thing: Before the doctor tells the guy that the guy has a tuomor, the doctor comes to him and yells "you Bastard". That is a really nice thing to say to a person, whose life is about to be completely torn apart. I mean, I understand what the Mangaka was trying to say (how he could do this to the female, because she'd be worried), but just thought WTF?! As if he could do anything about his illness
mmhh i cried so much my head hurts
But it was amazing, the end was lovely.. the story at first was so w/e ..
but i read it till then end and i loved it... how sweet and sad can be mixed in this story... it didnt leave a bad feeling at the end.. im really glad i read it ...
@Twilight_Moon
How do you figure it's like all the other shoujos with illness as part of the plot?
Did you really read the whole story? Yep, there were many cliches, but the ending is not ordinary at all...
... it's actually a bad ending.
This story is filled with cliches. That's basically it..I mean seriously all these cliches have been overused to the extreme, playboy meets girl that dislikes him, girl has illness, etc etc... It's really nothing new. The art's decent..There's nothing that you would read this story for..Just some sappy cliche story.
It was too dramatic for my liking. Both people happen to have an illness is sort of cliche. Though I did shed a few tears. It's a good oneshot. I like it.
The story was a little short, since it was an oneshot, but in this case I think it was a good choice because of the subject itself. The story was indeed predictable, but I don't think that the thing that makes a manga good is necessarily its ingenuousness, sometimes you just have to enjoy the story and live it along with the characters. It's a happy story, with an apparently sad ending, but in the same time full of hope.
I really love this manga, as soon as i started reading it i realized it was the one the movie was based on. Which of course i recommend even for those who may not like the manga as much as i did, it will really make you feel like falling in love "now and forever"....hehe. I even cried a tear or too even though i knew what was going to happen and the movie follows the story in every detail too but it brings your emotions more.
The playboy insists that he spends more and more time with the female.
But somehow, theres no character development. He loves her... falls in love with her..BUT WHY? i mean it shows pictures of them being together and all.. but.. he could do that with just anyone. T_T it just moves to fast.
I like the art and i like how in the end he becomes a dynamic character but i just dont know... however, i still very like the story... excluding the two-dimensionalness of it.

It's only one chapter, but it already screams of cliche.. the drawing isn't too bad, but it's not particularly stunning (especially compared to the pictures that are included of the actual drama it's based on). Playboy meets a disinterested girl with an illness... I can already pretty much guess the plot, and perhaps there might be some twist, or some interesting quirk in the characters, the fact that it's so predictable and unoriginal, and the art doesn't make up for it... I personally feel that reading something like this is a waste of time.
Then again, while I feel like this situation has been done too many times already, I'm sure there are others that don't feel this way.
