The FL reminds me of most ML shounen characters who seek to grow stronger. They run in head first to everything with not a single thought, they get people killed and cause a ridiculous amount of problems for everyone around b.c their own self righteousness means nothing in the face of reality. She doesn't come off as dumb, just naive or unconcerned about how the world isn't so black and white of evil vs good and good intentions don't always mean it is the best thing to do for a nation.
On the positive the FL acknowledges her errors and even tries to learn from them. I really wish she would learn to think first before attacking or at least admit she can't do that and properly prepare her companion to clean up after her mess.
It is not to bad a read so I would suggest it to others if they don't mind a naive and white knight FL. There is room for growth as I am up to chapter 63 and would like to read more.
I will admit that the main characters are really only alive b.c plot says so because everyone after them is overpowered but have excuses for why they won't just kill or capture them.
I feel that the world building is handled poorly, some information is given in the story, other information is given in author notes at the end of a chapter and sometimes its just randomly dropped in the middle of an action scene. You will find a lot of high tension scenes where characters should be running for their lives being used as a poorly timed moment for characters to have crazy long conversations.
The ML is fine, not too much is offered in terms of backstory for him yet, he plays as the FL's baby sitter or master at the moment, If the FL is head strong and hot headed, then he is level headed and meticulous which makes sense given who he is. I do appreciate that the two of them want to make this team work even if they don't see eye to eye on many things.
