Description

At first I thought this was just gonna be another pointless manga full of smut (well its a bit more than that for this one) so I was kind of hesitant to read it but man I'm glad I did! There's actually a good plot not to mention twists in the story and character development. I love how nothing was rushed and kept at a perfect pace, especially with the romance. Just one thing...

Didnt really like the ending! I mean he waited 3 years, finally gets a call from her then has to wait again because she wants to go abroad?! And all he says is "I'll be right here" I mean c'mon, the ending could've been way better!

How I felt when I read this

When this series first came out, I read the first eight chapters and stopped. Why? Well, one because only eight chapters were out at that time, so I read the most I could. But another reason was because I knew that this manga had SO MUCH potential and that it would KILL me if I had to wait until another chapter came out. So I waited it out.... until today. I read all 32 chapters in one go, and I say the wait was worth it.

I would elaborate on why it was worth it, but everybody else here has already spoken for me. This is a great manga series which delves deeper into the meaning of friendship, love, and a sense of duty.

There are lots of twists and turns in this manga, and there are also some rage moments too. That's the beauty of this; it made me FEEL. I sympathized with both the protagonist and the heroine, wanting what was best for them. Whether they got a happy ending or not is for you to read.

To those that are contemplating on whether this manga would truly live up to the hype it receives, I highly recommend reading this and judging for yourselves if it was well worth it. I hope that Harumi Chihiro - sensei becomes more well known, and start writing/drawing more wonderful manga series.

Okay, i have been reading this series ever since i found it here in MU and i dont know why i never ended up commenting on it even though this is on my top 10 list of closely followed shoujo manga. But now that it has ended, i couldnt help but drop a comment on it. Some parts maybe considered spoiler so.. i am using spoiler tag-

At first i was like, "WHaaaaaaaaaaat? thats it?" i mean cuh mon... he could have aleast confessed properly.i mean he cant be shy with some one he slept with like a million times already.,..but then i realised after a while that thats the beauty of the story... this has elevated smut genre to such a level.. matyre and beautiful not vulgar at all. So much was said without him confessing..and he said he will wait..so that means they have future together...it would have been too unrealistic if things were not sorted out and their equations specially. They both needed to sort themselves out..and by god , Nitta looked damn hot in the last chapter..more than ever! And grown up Kano chan is really beautiful.. this is hands down the best smut manga i ever read, and one of top 5 shoujo(short) that i read.

I would have given it full 10 points, if not for the vague ending.

Started following this series since I've finish the other series, Koi wo Suru no ga Shigoto desu. Concept is great and the drawing is really nice. Story is pretty good too. The mangaka never really put any elements of cheating/betrayal in that series which I enjoy reading. Not really big fan of cheaters, it pisses me off. Even though it's known that Kano has many orgys way before Nitta came along, it was nice to know she threw it away until the end of volume three. I'm a supporter of Nitta since he's the one that seems to be thrown left and right being played. Kano seems to play around with him and if you have read end of volume 3, you quickly see that everything that was built up, blew up and shattered and quickly you see Kano back to her old ways without realizing what she been doing. So I'm hoping it ends volume 4 and knowing this mangaka, it should be a good ending like Koi wo Suru no ga Shigoto desu, or atleast I hope so. I'll keep reading, but the chapter 24 kinda pissed me off that when Kano quickly went back to the orgys. Not really a big of reading about her getting done in by 3 guys. I felt Nitta got betrayed! Wasn't expecting it since Harumi Chihiro hasn't done this in any other the other series I read by her.

Updating since the series ended.
I've greatly enjoyed this series and ending was great. Volume 4 was a great read and definitely cleared everything I was worried about in this series.

I think think she is suposed to completely give up her orgy life more she spend time with Nitta

I think it is suppose to go like more Kanoko spends time with Nitta more she shuns away her orgy life eventually leading to her living normally and falling in love with Nitta. Nitta on the other hand is facing the harsh realities of life including his so called girlfriend using him just for her sexual pleasure.

Honestly, I don't know what the story in this manga is (not sure if there was one or I just don't remember it). I really am starting to lose interest, it's pretty much the same thing chapter after chapter. Personally, I think it's kinda pointless.

sex and then more sex, cheating, affairs, orgies, no common sense, "drama"...all without any really obvious story or plot points (is this perhaps a slice of life?)

I think that i am too pissed to give an objective rating to this series so i am just going to post a few sentences about my thoughts on manga i am running in to lately.

Whats the point of this manga? Whats wrong with this story?
Unless you are a horny teen i dont see how the hell would you give high rating to this, and i am not one of those ppl who goes and finds stuff to troll about that so on, usually if i dont like some manga i read i just think ok i dont like it, its crap. Ofc its my opinion , its not like everything is for everyone and not everyone will enjoy the same story as others.
And i dont post wall's of txt hating on something, its just that i am disappointed. Lately i cant find anything interesting to read in "mangaworld" anymore. I dont think that i found a manga in last 6 months that had a story i could remember after 1 hour after i finished reading the scaned chapter's.

Anyway back to topic, maybe its cause i checked Moto to love ruu darkness before this that i am just sick of stories that focus on getting the reader's horny than actually making an enjoyable read.

Its all about sex, i mean wtf are the authors trying to get with this? Dont get me wrong i have no problems if theres even insane amount of violence or sex in manga actually IF it makes sense or improves the story i don`t mind it at all, tbh i wish that some of the manga's i read had more(for instance Vagabond, omfg if Takezo would just get to it with his village childhood "friend", soz i forgot the name of that girl).

But sex shouldn't be the story, i dont see the difference between this and some censored porn. Every manga should have a good solid story that the author wants to tell us, i always thought that thats the point.

Unless ppl are rating how many boners they got while reading i just don't get how can this have a 8.something rating. Cause lets be honest this work is just WANNABE porn.

Oh i read a comment like" this manga explores human loneliness and the meaning of friends", yeah right......... sure it does...... as much as NRT hentai.

OH and the story in this manga, lets just say action > words and that everything said in this manga just cant be. The main lead is some kinda of ice breaker by the words of the mother, and his friend described him as someone who's mind is hard to change. If you think about it the main lead is no different from a call girl, hes basically a manwhore. And hes the one who`s role is to uphold some kind of moral in this story? not actually sure what he is up to tbh :<.

Despite all the sex and smut, it actually is really good ( or atleast has the potential to be). the relationship that the main character and the girl have is quite interesting 😮
I can't wait to read more 😀 DD But it could ease up on the sex scenes....

Yes, it does have a lot of sex scenes and probably some could be avoided, but I really like the main characters, they're not the usual useless male and soft female lead. Both of them have a unique character and the story is keeping me interested so far. Also hope for some development from now on but anyways a good read.

So far "Velvet Kiss" has been interesting. The relationship between the two main leads - typical salary-man gets together with an atypical tsundere girl - is really intriguing. My only complaint is that there is too many sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, they spice up the manga as they are all beautifully drawn but some chapters could very well do without them. In my opinion, more focus on developing the story would clearly benefit the manga. However, seeing as "Velvet Kiss" is serialized in an adult magazine, one would guess that there won't be any changes soon in that department.
