I'll start by saying that I like toxic stories, so I already liked the story because of that.

The story is actually interesting and good, but it's kind of an ok read. There are several hooks in the story that could have been explored more in depth to provide better dramatization and a richer plot, but it seems that most authors nowadays are afraid, or maybe they're not encouraged to do so. There are interesting characters that were very poorly used.

Honestly, although I liked the story, there's not much to say that could motivate you to read it... it's a common plot, childhood best friends who develop a relationship, and as I said before, the problems aren't very in-depth so the story stays with this basic plot. From what I saw abroad, the story ended in 2024 and there's no side story. Which is a shame, because it shows practically nothing of them as a couple. And the story ends with almost no resolution, whether between them to be a decent couple, or between Uke and his father. The reason for triggering the final moment for them to finally be together is very poorly done. I feel like the story was chosen as a stopgap so they developed another one and adapted it anyway, I don't know if the novel is like that, but I felt sorry for the author.

About the characters, Seme is a guy completely oblivious to himself. Seme has empathy issues, literally he is a character who should have a psychological diagnosis, of something related to apathy, he is not completely 0 feelings like a psychopath, but he has attachment issues, so this gives Uke a lot of headache, since Seme doesn't understand that he has feelings for Uke. Uke is a character without attitude, passive and also has problems expressing himself. He will make you nervous for being a wimp.

this might actually be the first time I'm commenting on a story that I don't like but lmao this story was objectively so bad that it's funny. it did have potential, I guess, there were themes there that, if well-executed, would've made for a decent or even good story. but god. it was just bad. the art's good but that's basically all. it's got no flesh, no fat, no muscle, nothing. just bare-bones. dried out. pretty sad. I still read the story start-to-end btw. it doesn't get better. even the ending is flat.

yandere characters… you can have so much fun with them if you play it right. genuinely such a pity. truly just the idea of an idea in this story. hollow, empty. really sad.

I really appreciate the artwork. I did not appreciate the pacing.

It takes all of one final episode to resolve everything that could have been resolved all throughout in a much more productive, engaging manner.

At first, ML Yeonjae seems like a classic red flag. Over the course of the story, however, it becomes apparent that it is the MC Seoyoon who needs a psychological and emotional hearing aid and ongoing communications coaching.

It was a frustrating read. I had to go have several cigarettes toward the end as I binged. But I stuck with it because I loved and felt pity for the ML who, readers learn early on, has a psychological disorder that makes him devoid of empathy, for all but the MC. I cannot emphasize enough how much I want to wrap Yeonjae in layers of fluffy love.

idk what was the author expecting for us to root such a shitty ml. he has a gf (like a serious one), made horrible remarks about guys liking other guys and despite all this he has balls to act possessive and act controlling with the mc. i literally dont understand how the heck is the mc in love with ml after all that. was so frustrating to see mc getting blushy and teary over shit ml, like 😕??

as much as i love reading yanderes i literally cant like the yandere here hes like a major turn off. 20 chapters in and he seems to get worse with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. as much as i hope for some new ml to be introduced but seeing how the shit ml is on the cover, what are the chances that there will happen? close to 0 maybe!

ML: I'm going to live a perfectly normal heterosexual life with girlfriend while giving my ex-boyfriend (who is still in love with me) just enough affection to control and emotionally torture him.

Redeemable qualities? None. He comes across as incredibly fake, and MC is almost too pitiful to feel bad for.

I don't get series like this... it's clear ML is super controlling yandere type, extremely touchy-feely and overbearing... but he has a girlfriend of 3 years that he's in a serious relationship with... he keeps forcing MC to see them together, so I'm thinking, "ah what a psycho, he's picked up on MC's feelings and is trying to make him jealous to goad him into confessing?" But no, he goes on a little homophobic rant to his girlfriend in front of MC... and understandably MC feels like shit. I don't even understand their friendship at this point, much less MC having romantic feelings for this guy.
Anyway I am 20 chapters into this misery and all I see is a horror story about an abusively controlling friend who seemingly doesn't even reciprocate his romantic feelings.
Even yandere-lovers probably won't find this very enjoyable, and the yandere-apathetic will most likely find this unreadable.
