This is a frustrating and incoherent read indeed. If I didnt buy all 4 volumes at the same time, I wouldnt buy all of it.
About this book, I like some story, dislike some.
One of the uke got raped so he sold himself, believe it or not. Then a random lovesick seme came. He still sold his body. Blah blah blah. Dont get why things change. He suddenly stop sleeping around and their feelings are mutual. Im like -.-
The last seme cheated on the uke, lied about it, hit the uke when the uke said he loved him during their makeup sex, about to share the uke with his friend (the friend refused), then sent the uke out to a snow storm to test his love. Then all the sudden everything is forgiven since he actually love the uke too and I still dont see why he changed his attitude at all.
About the main story: It was cliche, I dont quite agree with the idea of sleeping with someone as a way to promote yourself. But it was innocent and cute. Then vol2, 3, 4, I was so wrong.
Its really frustrating to think the No.1 desired man in Japan was a prostitute who just "happened" to be famous without any hard work. I was hoping for a good reason of him being a prostitute but all the author offered me was he ran away from home and needed money. But his attitude, proud and cool about leeching of middle-aged men, seriously disgusting. Then they introduced the most cliche line about prostitution "He sold his body but not his soul" Oh please, this is only work when someone was forced too, feel miserable about it, and still hoping for a better life to get out of this. This guy was nothing like that.
Not to mention, he tried to taint an innocent person for no real reason. Finally he got this guy obsessed with him, then the guy got people to gangrape him, videotape it many times and then killed himself (simply bc he didnt say he loved the guy). To atone for his sin, he sold himself to entrainment industry (I was like WTF? with this reasoning). He was a uke in his whole mess so when I read scenes when he is a seme in the main story, it turns me off badly.
Its also frustrating that both of her characters, seme and uke, got gang-raped, videotaped and had their videos spread. But they didnt care much as they should be. Also, the one that wronged them never be punished, at all.
Another thing is that the uke and seme always treat their career like crap. I hate it when characters have to choose love or career but these characters never think anything about their career at all.
Some tension was brought up and forgotten. A random guy says he is in love with the uke and the next day, they're back to friends with no real explanation. So weird.
Too much melodrama with sufficient reasons and solutions make me never want to read it again. Not to mention there were so many confusing parts that make me think that they misprinted somewhere to make the page out of order.
I would give it a 1/10 if not for some really cute oneshots that are included in the series.
