Description

After getting dumped by his lover on Christmas Eve, Ei finds a young man with a cat covered under the snow outside of his apartment. That's how he met Junpei. The serious Ei makes some place in his heart for the young man and the kitten named Yakinori.

With each passing day Ei becomes happier and happier. Until one day Ei's ex returns. What will Ei do with this sudden development?

Junpei is struggling with his grief when he comes to stay with Ei and he's straight. Ei is struggling with heartbreak over his male lover leaving him to marry his fiancee. Taking in Junpei helps distract him until his ex comes back into the picture. The cat brings them together too. Yakinori's not drawn too realistically but he's the cutest thing. 😻

Then there's Kitaka and Sagan which doesn't seem to be going well, Sagan rejects Kitaka's expensive but useless trinkets. Kitaka then meets Junpei, meanwhile Sagan already met Junpei at his workplace. Sagan and Junpei share the trauma of losing their lovers.

I really appreciate stories that run me through a whole range of emotions. The hurt/comfort, tenderness and intimacy, even when there were no words, was beautiful. The characters felt so tangible to me.

There's no explicit sex until the last chapter which was so them and lovely. <3

I do wish we'd gotten to see a bit more about how Kitaka and Sagan are at the end. There IS a manga for them called Koi to wa Ienai but it's not even listed on MangaUpdates (you can see it on Chill Chill). :(

I wish I had psychical copies of this work. I'll definitely reread it someday!

CWs:

-Grief (Junpei lost his partner to terminal illness, Sagan lost his to a car accident, this isn't helped by Kitaka getting to an accident later although he's okay)

-Cheating (Ei was willingly with a man who cheated on his fiancee with him, broke up with him to marry her, then they got back together, there's the ideology that if you're in love with someone you just can't help it)

-Kitaka maybe kissed Ei when he was sleeping, and he undressed him down to his boxers (because he puked on his clothes after binge drinking)

The old school manga are really the best ! Such a good read I had with this manga. A mature slow burn BL with the right amount of melodrama. My only complaint would be about the last four chapters, the author really dragged out the misunderstandings for no reason when all the characters were acting thoughtful and mature thus far.

Also was I the only one who was hit by 2nd lead syndrome ?

I wanted Ei to be with Kitaga tbh, they were a good pair and would have worked well if not for Junpei.

This is honestly one of the best manga stories/boys love manga I've ever read. SO well written, the art is lovely, the characters are all lovely and well thought out and three dimensional and the story is cute and overall satisfying.

Reading this one was a real roller coaster ride ^^'.
There was so much drama, so much angst... that it was actually kinda funny x) I mean, when you're thinking everything is finally gonna be fine... nope ! "Someone died !", "I had an accident ! ", "The cat got lost !". Hahaha such bad timing I can't believe it xD

Nonetheless, it was so beautiful !!!
I loved the characters' development, how they evolved thanks to their relationships, how they made mistakes because they acted like cowards, and how they realized it and eventually understood what was really important to them.
It felt like the author really knew what she was talking about ! Everything felt so genuine ! The execution was perfect and she managed to share so many emotions !! Love, the loss of someone dear, loneliness, betrayal...
The misunderstandings were REALLY frustrating, but they were legit so I can't blame the characters. Each one of them were just longing for warmth and were crushed by their own insecurities. They felt like real life people because of their weaknesses and had more depth than I expected. I was really gladly surprised !
Plus, the art was gorgeous !

All in all, it was really great.
So if you're still hesitating, just give it a try ! It worths it ! But be ready for an emotional ride ! x)

I would have liked to know how things turned out for the 2nd couple though... ^^

This goes directly to my Top yaoi ♥ But it's a pity that Sagan and Kitaka's story ends like that. I hoped that maybe there was some sequel with their story... but seems like it isn't TT.TT
I'm sad about that, but I still loved this one. The story is beautifully developed, and the characters make big mistakes that can be a little disturbing, but those make them more real... Humans make mistakes all the time ^^
I'd love a sequel, really. If the mangakas decided to make one... I'd be super happy about that. Don't think will happen, though, since this one is from the 2010...

At first i'm like what with this manga? I don't like the art, but still i continue to read it because that's what i am if i picked up someting i won't let it go. Eventually this manga captured my heart, it is fantastic, truly a masterpiece. A drama worth reading, i'm really pissed at the ex-lover of the uke, a real douche, a jerk. This bring feels especially when they commit a mistake, sleeping with someone to comfort and to be comforted. The mistakes and learning drilled to my mind and heart, i find them so stupid, so foolish but i'm happy that they are able to move forward and correct their mistakes. I also really love the cat! (Hope cats in reality are like that). I will not forget this manga, it's so worth reading, every chapter will make you sink down in the story, it's so passionate, so true, so amazing. The qoutes are also good and meaningful, it helps to properly deliver the appropriate feeling you must feel.

Really nice, interesting story. The long romance appealed to me, even though I've been reading more one-shots lately, for the quick gratification.

The art is beautiful, the plot interesting and captivating, and the characters are likeable and relatable. They are also flawed, which makes them even more beautiful.

Also, Yakinori, the cat, is so cute you'll want to adopt her!

There is only one thing I didn't like: the story between Sagan and Kitaka was left unresolved.

Firstly, I wish there was another extra for the other pair. ): Of the "dot all the i's and cross all the t's" variety.

The rest, it was great. Personally, I wouldn't call it a soap opera (that requires OMGSOMUCHDRAMA), even though it is slightly melodramatic in places. There were some really great moments, too. "The ugly mistake" so many readers hated? (not rape, guys.) I found it ...very human. I actually loved how they overcame it - with dignity intact and no self-flagellation.

Overall, there were many things I found real, down-to-earth, accurate and yet poetic.

P.S. The cover is really weird though. It was pure luck I gave it a chance.

This was good. The characters and romances were all properly developed, and it was mostly realistic as well. There was a bit of manga silliness, but it didn't make it unbearable.
I really want to see what happens with the other characters! ^^

I'm in love with this series, it well paced, and I really enjoyed reading this.
The chars are likeable, and near the end, I like the comment that human sometimes weak, they made mistake, sometime grave error. But the best thing is,how we get through of it.
It's been so long that I read such enjoyable yaoi series, not just physical or sex, but more about the feeling of characters
