Description

Eva, a long-lived witch, takes in Fernest kingdom’s fifth prince, Louis, when she is asked to heal the first prince of an illness. Although witches are traditionally despised, Louis forms a close bond with her. When Louis is called back to the palace by a strange twist of fate to take his father's place on the throne, Eva must decide whether to let him go or follow.

The art is amazing.

This mangaka has a very nice style and i personally thought that her use of special effects was spot on. It wasn't over-used nor was it barely there. All the touching scenes were perfectly drawn and i just fell in love with how the characters looked.

The story was very sweet and even though there were some little dark parts, the main story was adorable. compared to the art however, the story was just mediocre.

I will be sure to continue watching out for this mangaka since her art and stories are getting better.

A Good Cliche

It is a good Shoujo. Typical, yes but the right "ingredients" for a shoujo manga to work were all present. The MC was really likable and not much of a pushover for a heroine which is good enough for me. The male MC IS adorable. He'll be more than enough to fulfill your fantasies. LOL.

The other characters were also nice, though tbh, I'd love to see more of Gilbert-san esp after the last chapter. Mangaka-san should've added or even made a sequel or a companion manga that would deal with Gilbert-san. I dunno, it's too girly I know, but he's got the right charm to be a male lead of his own story.

Great art btw.

I like the premise, but the heroine...

I would give this a big fat ten if there were two things that could be done:

The heroine! Why is she so typical, she's a friggin grandma, and yet, she acts like a teenager (as someone mentioned before). I found it irritating, especially, ahem when I have a little fantasy like this, and her personality didn't match my fantasy mc T.T

I felt so sorry for the first prince, his dream/position as king was taken away by the YOUNGEST prince (i.e. main male lead). Apparently he was raised just to be the king, but his old man just had to do that. I don't mind the main lead being the king and all, I can see why he was a better candidate, but still. Since I pitied this guy so much I wished they didn't rushed the last chapter and at least shown, like, a little character development off him or one page of him smiling or something like that as I assumed that he had become a better person that has decided to be allies with his brother king.

Weak Female Being Led by a Manipulative Male

Totally agree with bossmama. The heroine is very shoujo-cliche-she blushes every time the shota turned man-prince makes a move on her. He seems to be the person dominating the relationship. Every chapter is about how he manipulates her into thinking that she can't do anything without him-the one chapter she does, she's the one apologizing. If you're into emotionally weak heroines, read this. If not, read the first chapter, when she narrates about his cuteness as a shota (he was cute as a shota - somehow somewhere, his personality got messed up or he was replaced by an evil identical twin<--would totally make sense).

I'm not okay with the heroine

This is just typical shoujo with its general cliches... which I don't mind since the cliches are pretty enjoyable. But the heroine is... ugh. She's already hundreds years old yet she acts like a teenage girl. Man, I wouldn't have any complain if the heroine IS a teenage girl, but for god sake she's not.
Read this if you like shoujo, only 'like' is enough, you don't have to be a shoujo manga lover.

Edit: Seeing that my comment would actually hold anyone from reading this, I want to make it clear that this manga is, indeed, an enjoyable shoujo and full of lovable cliches. And the heroine is not a worst kind of heroine, actually, even though not my fave too. She's just not acting like her age and that fact alone personally bothers me.

First off let me say this; I have really high expectations when it comes to manga and I tend to know what is utter and complete crap when I see it. And this manga isnt. True this was the third attempt at reading it, but still...The only reason I couldn't read it back then was beacause it was only one chapter and I didn't want to immerse myself into it...

Reading the whole thing, I really liked it. Its not perfect but its sweet. The main character is older than every single other person but because she locked herself away for a hundred years she still has the mentality of a 17-20 year old. (I'm assuming the prince is at least 20...) I personally loved her attitude. She wasn't weak, actually, she was really strong, she just acted like a young girl when it came to Louis....Louis... he's too adorable. He loved teasing her, but he wasn't a sadist. And he wasn't completely strong, he needed to know he was loved too.

The brothers and Ian were cute too, though Gilbert severly p*ssed me off. (He redemed himself though.) and I didn't feel sorry for him at all. Yeah, you were supposed to be the king, but you werent fit. His actions showed it perfectly...

Personally my favorite bit was the end where you see a picture of the couple holding hands and Louis holding their *****.... So cute.

So yeah, while its not perfect, it was rather adorable and cute.

Balancing the scales

I thought I should definitely review this manga, seeing as I put off reading it for a long time based on the last two reviews. Then I finally read it ... and loved it. The art is lovely and despite the fact that the story is cliché it's very enjoyable. The romance between the main characters is sweet and it doesn't get boring even if there isn't much drama between them.

Also on the previous review by WShin: the male lead really isn't as manipulative as is said here, though he does like to tease the female lead a lot. I haven't truly seen him put her down anywhere. And the part where she apologizes is because she made him really worried by putting herself in serious jeopardy (he rescued her ofcourse). The review makes it sound like the male lead is a complete jerk, which he really isn't, he's very sweet. Don't do like I did and skip this based on the male lead being a jerk, cause this is definitely one of the sweeter romances I've read recently. Also the female lead isn't completely without her merits, especially when it comes to her skills with medicine, but that was somehow overlooked completely >.>

My point being: if you like shoujo, you'll most likely like this too, it's not the best of the best, but it's an enjoyable read all the same.

i couldn't go through chapter 2 ... i don't like the witch > there's nothing special about this manga , accept for the art maybe , and the male lead :l she's a freaking witch !! she shouldn't be weak she should be strong and a be a wise women since she's so old xD
