Description
A young boy is saved by a mysterious gunfighter who uses magical bullets. She is the greatest magician in the world but disappears shortly after saving him. Having fallen in love with her, he trains to become a gun fighter and ten years later, his search comes to an end but his adventure has just begun. The story starts off good and then comes the time travelling which drones on and on. Yeah I know that major background plot is revealed in the time travel arc but it was so tedious to get through it. And why are these recent chapters only 22 pages long? That's almost as ridiculous for a monthly comic as Sekirei's measly 16 pages or so. I'm still gonna retain my 9/10 rating for this manga for the moment, but I'm so tempted to drop the rating a few points.
For all those who have misjudged this manga,please read all the story and then make a comment.Every arc had it's meaning.The story started slowly but all are connected in the later chapters.It has the most similarities to Berserk than any manga i have read toned down a bit.
If you are even bored to read the next chapters then there is a synopsis on Wikipedia,so maybe after reading it you may continue with the story.

I actually really like this manga. And I just finished the first arc. All I can say is... THAT FRIGGIN'... FRIGGIN'... FIRST ARC ENDING MADE ME CRY... uuuu~*sniff* *sniff*... :'-(
And I am going to continue reading this manga. And I am GLAD that the mangaka continued this. Thank goodness.
I really adore Kurohime and Zero's love. I want to see more! Hahaha.
And even if it's still not finish, I hope this won't have a sad ending! I fell in love with the manga already for it to have a sad ending! Grar. Hahaha. And I wish it's Hime and Zero. Man. <3 <3 <3

this manga has gone to absolute shit...
the 1st ark was great and should have been ended there but no...the mangaka screwed the manga by not ending it..
IMHO read the 1st ark then drop it....do not read the rest as its not worth it

sorry....i lost interest in this. The way they axed one of the main protagonists wasn't to my liking.
He dissapeared for the rest of the show after chapter 10 or so?...It was also quite patronising to see someone else try and take his position on top of that.
Bleh, the main lead changed into this girly person who is in touch with her emotions? Thats not why i started reading, I didn't want to see that till the very end or for a very long time.

First arc was meh, the Zero arc was the only good arc. The rest after that is utterly contrived, bull shit that really makes you understand that the mangaka has no idea about what the hell he's doing.
This manga was once great. I loved it. Then the past arc came.... long, convoluted and detrimental to the story (the original purpose for her going back there was pretty much forgotten as she doted on Rei and ignored Zero, the guy she supposedly loved). Then, when the end of the arc came, we find out some horrible news (to me anyway) that completely ruined any interest in the manga, making me drop it. I give it a 5/10 because the beginning up through the Shinigami arc it was REALLY good. Then it got REALLY bad, so it evens out. I'll never finish it, though.
As others have stated, the story is a convoluted one, but when it comes down to it, Kurohime is a tragic tale of romance and fantasy that is definitely worth a read. The artwork does indeed improve over time, the bad guys are easy to hate, the story will keep you wanting more, and Kurohime is just gorgeous. There's a fair bit of nudity, this being an ecchi work, but in the case of some things, such as one of the 'gods' found in the more recent chapters, it can be grotesque.
It becomes a heart-wrenching romantic tale in which Kurohime encounters tragedy after tragedy, so its a difficult read for the weak of heart (such as myself), and is actually somewhat depressing.
I would definitely recommend this to any and all readers, males and females alike.
Upon finishing the series I realize that the plot was dragged on unnecessarily and the plot cluttered, as others have noted, and the ending was just terrible. Would def reread for the first arc, however.

I completely agree with Molenir. The author should have ended this manga when Zero died. If he ended this manga shortly after the Zero's death, this manga would be a legend that everyone would cry and long for more.
Currently, at least to me, the manga pretty much sucks. It's nowhere as interesting as it used to be. The new arcs are pretty much lame or so draggy.
