Tried it, but it's not up to par.

I am trying to figure out what the whole appeal is to this series...it truly is very simple.

The plot isn't really intriguing; it also felt too familiar, not entirely unique enough.

The male leads are painfully bishounen. Maybe I am just too old (Who knows, maybe I would have liked it back when I was 16?) but it wasn't for me. These guys are very sparkly emo pretty with eyeliner and piercings.

I will say that the art can feel quite fresh, much dibs to that, it's not like others. But sometimes the scenes can be tiresome or too "empty", and there are plenty of them. I agree with Ibleda about the webcomicy feel about the whole thing too.

I wonder if maybe the series was created to dip into a hype - offerring prettyness and a cliched storyline, thinking this was enough for a particular type of general audience. In a sense, dumbing down on purpose thinking it is for a dumbdowned group of readers. Which, in context, should feel a bit insulting.

If you do want a light, temporary and colourful read, then go for it, there is no harm in that. But if you are more interested in more a intricate, original, mature, and detailed plot with truly complex characters, reach for another series.

Additionally, if you are also a grown adult, reach for another series.

I'm sorry, but it is a bit overrated. I know some folks will likely feel all heated, defensive, throwing the usual silly "Haters" line, but have to say it like it is. (Funny how some people can get all fussy because others have legit opinions on why they don't like something. People who have read and disliked Noblesse have moved on with their lives, surely the fans can do the same thing instead of complaining or insulting)

Deserving of its rating.

Ive read quite a lot of manga, and still find the art beautiful. Also would like to mention I'm not a bishi loving fangirl either. The story has never really been boring either, it just has a slow and steady pace... which I appreciate instead of the rush and stagnation style that is prominent. Plus while some may think its stupid, the fact that they use natural humor of situations without making chars into ridiculous crackpots is refreshing. Its sad how many people jump on the "overrated" bandwagon for such ridiculous reasons. Most of noblesse is a fresh feeling from standard manga/manhwa, I think most of these negative review are probably just pompous wannabe hipsters who have to hate anything with a fanbase even if it deserves it.

Overated - but good.

This series is way overated. Probably thanks to the "bishies" and the vampire fad of nowadays. Or that the reading public for mangas are mostly simple minded teenagers, lol.

I for one do not follow such trends (that homo vampire thing) and bishies are just too meaningless for me. But ignoring that, the art is above average, - and if you consider that it is an web comic, pretty impressive. The plot is good, considering that you are reading an web comic for teenagers. But it gets boring fast with the "Everything in this manga seems to be just so amaziiinggg", like lilyann1984 said.

Skip this if you are looking for something more intelligent or mature, well-though-out or even manlier. If you aren't, you will surely love this.

Honestly, I am a lurker. I would have never made an account if I didn't read the comments for this web-comic-manwha. Yes it can be "over hyped" and in general, everything is a copy/similar to anything else. That's why there are genres. But all of the negativity that I see are all childish. As a particular user said, thought I am not sure how credible that makes me, I have read over 10 years of manga. Started off with Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and Naussica. Only recently have I been interested in manwha and webcomic though. This is not a manga. It is...in a sense, not even a manwha. It is a web-comic that gets updated once a week. So of course it will be a dragging on of "what happens next?" type of story. Every web-comic is. The mentality created from reading manga which have a set number of pages to constitute a chapter, then volume, creates an illusion of solidarity. That does not allow the same comparison to a web-comic ffs. It's like comparing a movie to a tv series. The best you can get from a tv series is the previews and some episodes are better or worse than the last. In terms of story, yes, it isn't exactly wow/amazing but nowadays, not much wow/amaze me. But I do go "eek" because of how well drawn the characters are and the various moments that you appreciate it for. Perhaps I am generous in my 9 for my first post but I genuinely like this as it has the potential for a good story. As of this writing, I am on chapter 232 where things are picking up again.

It all boils down to: THIS is a korean web-comic. It comes out weekly, translated by the wonderful people over at EG. It is not a manga. It is even debate-able to not even be a manwha. It is in a long strip formatting that may affect how the story is written and planned out. Also, consider how many chapters are out. IE, whether you are following the story's twists and revelations as each chapter come out or you are allowed the sanity of reading it in one full swept. The result is quite different. Also, the men are mostly pretty. The humor is quirky. And seriously, just enjoy it and over analyze it.

Wow, that was short at all. In a summary of the supposedly summary... it is a korean web-comic that differs from ****ing conventional manga that we are used to.

WAY overrated

to think this would stand above many many excellent mangas in terms of rating...truly perplexing

i believe the story is only continuing to tidy up loose ends. i would give this a better rating if it were shorter instead of beating around the bush and making the reader feel good.

But this does not mean this is a sucky junk. I had good laughs from the "elegant" tongue-in-cheek humour. The premise is an interesting twist on the "Anunnaki vs Illuminati" theory. As others have said, I myself have fallen victim to wanting to know what is going to come next...knowing full well I am simply satisfying my baser manga reading instincts. How inelegant!

Noblesse.. What can I say... I agree with lilyann1984... It's 'overrated.'
A reason to drool over it is definitely for the art, but the art style changes quite a bit later on and it just doesn't look as good anymore (in my opinion anyway). The story is just kind of bland, in the beginning I was thinking it was almost a comedy webtoon then later, suddenly there's all this action and that still can't dig itself out of the pit the series itself in. People go all gaga over it but after about 100 chapters, I don't really know why I read it... If there were only like 10 chapters released at the time I was reading it, I would have dropped it after 3, but since there was a lot of chapters when I started, I thought it would get better... but it only improved a bit but it still isn't that great. I feel as if this series should have ended awhile ago. :/ I'm probably not the only one that thinks Noblesse isn't doing so good since Noblesse Ratings on Naver has been a bit shaky.
Should you read it or not...? I'd say give it a shot but if you drop it, you're not really missing anything.

Only thing that kept me going was finding out the mystery behind the main characters and the nice drawings. However the story is poor once you read on further. And after a while, this didn't seem interesting anymore.

I read this because of the incredibly high rating it gets. And I must say someone has to be very simple minded to enjoy such a manhwa/webcomic. But because most people are simple minded the success of this manhwa is understandable. I don't want to be mean, but I read manga since over ten years and Noblesse is nothing special. I stopped at chapter 64 and if someone says I should read further because later on the good stuff begins - well, why should I bother? Reading 64 chapters and being bored should be enough. The art is nice if you are a bishi loving fangirl, the jokes are funny the first time, even the second time, perhaps the third time, but... the forth, fifth...time? Seriously it is repetitive. The whole story has nothing to look forward. If you read the comments no one seems to say something about the storyline. Everything in this manga seems to be just so amaziiingggg... yeah. What exactly is amazing? I don't know and no one else seems to know. But it's so amaaaazinggg... I'm maybe to cynical to enjoy something that unsubstantial.

I feel like I'm *reading* a drama

I do not understand how people got all kya kya about this. I started reading it back when it was first released in english, like early 2010 I think. I thought it looked promising, although it was my first webcomic and I couldn't tell right from left.
Now, as my list of mangas build up, I realized how Noblesse sucked. I did drop it twice already, but I'm still reading it. Why? Not because it's good, but because your curious to know the ending. It's the same feeling you get watching tv dramas that absolutely sucks, but still keeps watching while dropping it and picking it back up.

The art for Noblesse is known for being absolutely beautiful, I thought so too at first. However, that was because of my limited experience with manga. Yes, people have different styles, some suit my taste and some don't. But the thing with webcomics is that, they are amateurs. Not pros. The art is inconsistent, panels are simple and not thought out, and the tones are simple ugly gradients. If you haven't noticed, the author changed the style a few times already. It got better probably, but the anatomy still looks very awkward in my eyes. Well... that's to be expected for a manhwa, a webcomic too. And I don't exactly prefer her latest style...

On top of that, even if the setting is good, what happens is the author lacks the skill too keep it interesting all along. This is with regular manhwa too, they start out interesting, but along the way you get bored and tired of it. Often what I find with online chinese novels as well. As a result, the plotlines for webcomics end up really simple, there's nothing that can keep you going for a long time. I'm rather amazed how Noblesse turned out popular, and look how impossibly high that rating is...

I'm starting to think of this as more a drama that's dragging out than a manga... although quite a few manhwas and most webcomics are the same way. My conclusion is, this sucks, but while hating myself I'll continue to read it to kill time. In all my embarrassment that I'm actually reading something that's connected to Korea, I'm still curious of the next. Not eager, but curious.

Amazing!

At first I was like "It has colors, and the format is strange" since it was the first web comic I've read, then just after some chapters I was completely in love with the story. People may say that the characters don't grow, and when I read it I thought maybe the story wasn't good. But unlikely it gave me a very pleasant feeling and I could love each of them knowing they are like this, and the more I learned about them the more I liked.
Even though Rai is pretty much a different protagonist he doesn't lose to any shonen manga protagonist, with time I just fall in love with him. Frankenstein wasn't a problem either since he has the kind of personality I like. All the other characters who came afterwards pass me an incredible nice feeling and make me cheer for them. I like the fights and I read lots of shonem, so the fights are good and even though the fights of Noblesse aren't the usual "find the strength in you", but it doesn’t lose to other stories. The story is surprising, I mean, even though I'm not the type who guess what is going to happen I didn't find any clue of what was going to happen in the end. Noblesse has all the things I could hope for a shonen and more, it's original and addictive. Noblesse is worth reading if it's not a need. I approve completely!
