Description

High schoolers Yuki and Shigeru aren't dating, but still enjoy a highly active sexual relationship. Naïve and still very child-like in the way they think, it comes as a great shock to them when Shigeru discovers she's pregnant. The two are confronted with the decision of aborting the baby and wounding Shigeru, or to keep it and face great opposition from their parents and high school, and gasp miss their beloved Conflict concerts!

The characters are soo stupid. "Rubber? What's that? Candy?" ^^;; Not really... They kind of remind me of 7-year-olds. Shigeru likens having sex with him like playing on a Playstation with him. XD
But it's just so funny and cute that even though the art is kind of weird and the main characters are utterly immature, I love it.

Unexpectedly, I really enjoyed reading this manga. The characters are soooo adorable and the art is cool too. Obviously, this manga is under-rated because of the teenage pregnancy thingy, which is unfair, because I think the mangaka's message was NOT "to let it happen", but "to be cool when it does happen". Of course in real life it's much more complicated and harder, but it still makes a good point.. ne?

Story/Plot:-
This is a Shoujo manga about a stupid-crazy teen couple that now have to deal with the issues of teen pregnancy 😛 . Even though it deals with a serious issue it can be hard to take it seriously with a couple this dumb. lol
Artwork:-
It has a very standard artwork which is typical for shoujo manga however when things get whacky, so does the artwork.
Final Thoughts:-
This is a really enjoyable manga that manages to deal with the seriousness of teen pregnancy in such a fun way 😀 . Even though it's short enough to finish in a day the story doesn't feel rushed at all, as it develops nicely however I do feel that more could have been done. ^_^

Handles some pretty sensitive stuff in a real insensitive way.
It's not one of the best series out there, but it has character; even though I read it once about 5 years ago, I was able to remember most of it. It kind of sticks to you after reading it. (lol)
I really appreciate the fact that it's not one of those ''a dime a dozen" shoujo series that copy each other and cycle throught he same situations leading to the same reactions ad infinitum. All in all Akkan Baby is a fresh breath of air, even though it has many shortcomings.

If you're looking into a deep, dramatic look into pregnancy, then I wouldn't recommend this to you. If you're looking for a light read with two lovable idiotic leads then you'll love this manga. I laughed so hard throughout the entire thing and beside being two idiots, the main characters' relationship is sweet.

haha! this was great! yuki and shigeru really are complete idiots, but loveable, adorable, and cute idiots. the story broached a more realistic topic that i've never read about in a manga, which is refreshing. i was actually reeeally hesitant to read this, but i'm glad i got bored and read it. it was really worth it. it's not one of those mangas that leaves you with a sad feeling at the end because it's over, but a satisfied one. you experience a range of emotions, certainly with laughter at the forefront, as others have said.

and the art! i really liked that too. it's not the typical style, but leaning towards almost a punk, unique style. it wasn't awkward at all. (you know, how sometimes you squint at the page/screen, and you go.. "is that her eye.. ?!?" or.. "is that angle really natural?") my favorite character drawn was ruuui<333. pretty~.

i loved all the shigeruxyuki moments, they were so cute! how yuki was always so protective of her was adorable also~ i really liked how their love was so pure and innocent, despite that they were having sex all the time. .. which i would have thought completely impossible before i read this. XD

and muni! hahahaha! tiny yuki anybody?? i wonder how he's gonna turn out. XDD that would be an interesting story. i'm sure he's going to be an interesting child.

This manga is so cute!!! It was absolutely a good read but are those kids really suppposed to be having babies, I'd be worried if the greater population of the world's parents were like that. But the characters and extremely naive, clueless, and...cute. I recommend this manga to people who'd like a good laugh if you're the very serious type you might think the manga has no point and wasa waste of time, it varies depending on the reader's personality.

I liked how this manga was about a topic most people don't like to touch - teenage pregnancy. But it seemed to lack a more serious edge to it. It portrayed teenage pregnancy in a more light hearted way most of the time. The ending seems a bit contrived and rushed, but overall a good series.

This manga is not like the regular shoujo concept. But the thing is, maybe it is because of this that this manga is so good. Even though this story might not go super serious about a teenager having a baby, but its enough. There were moments where I was laughing off my head off and there moments where I was crying (I'm get moved easily...) Some may say that it was too rushed, but it was as I said, PERFECT!
