Lol i sounded serious with my subject but... Ah huh... This is purely for mature audience... this is Not like SEX mature but MENTALLY mature. . . Because when u read the catogories all bunch of stuffs lile "incest" (which did not take place in this manga) "rape" which is not specifically performed nor depply approached in this manga.. I'm being honest here... I thought this is some Kinda perverted manga and all, so i did not even give a try on it but i was wrong(thou the ctgrs sound scary ... This manga is not that bad.... It is indeed only for mature reader because the manga starts off with a dark mood which continued through out the story, yep it'll get you hooked ... But warning IF YOU ARE A SUPER SHOUJO/GIRLY/NOOB/15 below reader... DO NOT.... i mean it DO NOT READ THIS MANGA.... it will mess up ur mind, it will make you go crazy this manga is no ordinary fluffy manga with cool bad boys... This manga has a very deep plot ... It i DO NOT reccomend this to young readers... But if you love dark and deep plot manga.. THIS MANGA IS THE BEST YOU WOULD EVER READ!!! try it! Goodness it'll make you think hard , it'll make you notice somethings you were never aware off... Either in your life or ur sorroundings... This manga touches REAL LIFE (^_^)

Well, I'm not into shoujo manga since almost every story I've read was really lame so I kinda give up on it for a while, until now. So, I decided I'd read Mars just because it has 400+ 10's and i am a manga fan (and had A LOT of free time at home 'cause of rainy cold days)

To begin with, I enjoyed reading a good part of it; art is old but actually well done, plot was classic (and I was prepared for it), and characters mostly predictable but quite defined, I liked their development through the story.

I liked the way they met, and like Kira says on the latter volumes "It's strange how people meet" (I nodded), that aside I think almost everyone knows someone who's similar to Rei in some ways, like I do, it was fun remembering that person along the manga, and I also believe that everyone in their life, meets a person who is capable of changing you and to change because of you in such a dramatic way. For me that's the greatest thing of this manga.

The rest of the story was good.

The only parts that annoyed me were the ones when Rei forced contradictions (or something like that) and those times they had to deal with Masao, he pissed me off.

Yeah it's a great example of shoujo manga, stupid, touches difficult points, entertaining, and worth reading (once).

An absolute favorite of mine even though these aren't my FAVORITE types of manga this one in particular caught my eye and I hope many more people read this and fall in love. Very deep full of twists and turns that make you ache to read more. Happy Reading! 😀

I totally loved this manga. The plot and characters were amazing and the romance between Kira and Rei was positively delicious! XD (SPOILER) I was a tad confused at the beginning when Rei was talking about his twin's death. Did his twin jump of his own free will? Did Rei tell him to? I got the point eventually though. This is definitely a classic and a must-read for romance manga fans everywhere! I <3 Kira x Rei! XD

The beginning was beautiful! and intense. The middle was deep and alll about the past and how it affected themselves and did i mention intense and towards the end, where the basterd step dad reunited with his 'finally emotionally (and probably physically)healed daughter' was just awesome which lead to the growing romantic tension between the love-crazed bad boy and shy artistic daughter! This iwas a very good read! i liked it alot! The ART within the art was beuatiful but the art (general manga) took me some time to get used to. OVER ALLL reccommended to all teenage shoujou romance fans.

This was the frst manga i ever read. Even though I read it online i still went to buyall the books. I read this manga over 5 years ago and I still love it just the same. Although it has its 'moments' it is a very original story.great character development. wonderful romance. The female isnt to weak an the male has his weak points. I love Rei and his crazy pesonality. They showed his flaws and didnt portray him as a spoiled bad like in many mangas. Very wonderul story and it encouraged me to read more mangas. =(^__^)=

Amazing manga.
At first, the story kind of put me off. It starts off with the overdone 'popular bad body lady killer falls in love with shy quiet girl' type of storyline. As you read on, you realize there is so much more to this story. With regards to Kira and Rei's love, they show that love conquers all. The conflicts they go through are not your usual high school shoujo manga problems, but serious issues that are related to their past traumas. This manga showed the dark side of each character, side of them that they don't reveal to the public. It's very intriguing and really makes you think about human nature. Characters like Masao Kirishima and Sei had so much depth. When you figure out why they're the way they are, you can't help but just think. Some of the moments where a character reveals a bit of that 'secret' side to them made me stop breathing for a while (Among other moments in the story). I won't go into too much detail, but this has definitely become a favourite of mine. I hope to be able to purchase the volumes when I can find them (And when I have the money).

Soap opera

If you are into soap operas, you are going to love this.
Suicide, rape...sociopaths
You name it and is there.
Im not saying this is a bad romance manga, it was good, is like an emotional roller coaster.
But if you are looking for something real, this is not it.
Seems that ppl believe that if there is a manga that talks about suicide is real, but is not.
There are other things as real as suicide, and less dramatic.
I mean I have found fluff that is more real...than the ones that are suppose to be realistic.
I gave an 8 bc is entertaining, a cheap entertainment, but at the end entertaining.
Have fun reading.

I've always thought the covers for old manga's are poorly drawn or something. But ultimately, it's often the manga's I love best. You know 'Chiper'? I really enjoyed the time it took place in. The 70s? I don't know, but since...I've yearned to go back in time! Can't you see how free they lived? It all seemed so colourful! Have you noticed how grey our time is? It's all about the enviroment, money, sex and war. Well I guess there's more...I can't really say I know since I'm only fourteen but I think it seemed so free back in the days. Like they didn't care how others looked at them. Well now...as I said I'm not so experienced but, I think it looked happier back then. 🙂

I loved this manga. It's one of those you start reading and can't stop no matter what time it is. Sadly, after too long at the computer I get sloppy in my eyes and don't register what I read completely so It's a waste to finish it without knowing really what happened later. Well anyways, I can only say I loved this manga. ;D

Not a regular Shoujo

Not one of the best but it is unique and okay to look at.

Story (40%): 10
The plot may not seem that unique (bad boy falls for quiet shy girl) but it is so much deeper than that. The story touches upon really deep issues: rape, bullying, suicide but does it in a way that makes the story flow. The love between Kira and Rei remains pure and it is amazing how they overcome all of the obstacles realistically.

Character (40%): 10
The characters appear shallow in the beginning (or at least I thought so) but then you realize that both of the main characters are deeper than they seem. They both faced tragic events in their past and that makes up their present character. Every character eventually develops and every character becomes likable.

Enjoyment (10%): 9
I am probably being bias since this was my first manga but it is a great read. It has a lot of drama (like a soap opera) but it doesn't feel corny. Although it has a lot of drama, the love between Kira and Rei remains pure. There were some parts where Kira's weak personality annoyed me but it was good overall
