I liked the premise, though the characters are rather too girly looking for my tastes and the manbeast forms feel rather crude; they look like gigantic fluffy foxes. Sy's characterization is lovely; I really wish I could know more about his background, his relationship with Gwen and Mikhael, hostility with Jen's sister...basically, I want to see his lifestory much more than I want to see his romance with Mao, who is just rather too weak for my tastes.
This is a really nice work, especially reading that this is the first work by this mangaka. Wild Fangs has good art and a nice plot. The characters are okay and I liked them. I would not say this is the best manga I've read, but it's one of the best soft-yaoi. It's not clichéd nor exaggerated (like a lot of yaoi). I recommend it, especially for soft-yaoi lovers.
beautiful, beautiful artwork, especially the animals. very atmospheric too. the story is better than many, at least in its very broad strokes, but i agree with those who said the manga is too short; i wanted to know so much more. BL mangaka seem to rarely be given enough space to develop their stories, at least not at first. the relationship also happens a bit fast, though that seems to be typical for "fated" partners in BL. but hey, better a story leave me wanting more than thinking i wasted my time.
and fortunately, coming to this late, i now have two sequels to read. maybe i will find out the things i am wondering about.
This one has nice art, and a good storyline. I do agree with previous posters about it being too short and a little rushed. It could have gone several volumes if totally fleshed out. Perhaps the mangaka wasn't given the chance to do what could be done with it. Wouldn't be the first time that happened.......
It is worth reading however, and is enjoyable. The main character Mao is cute and lovable.
Boring, rushed story. The art is ok though, but I don't read manga for the art alone. And I didn't like the characters either, and didn't feel the love between them at all. Only good point is that there are worse mangas.
Just to mention: To the many who wished it was longer, particularly those interested in Kyrii's backstory there are volumes called Wild Rose and Wild Wind.
"Wild Fangs" has an cool cast and an really interesting story, but it isn't long enough. There really isn't enough space given to developing the characters and their relationships, so at the end I felt like I had just finished a prologue rather than a whole story. But I love the boys, their world and the concept, so I would recommend it anyway. It's neat and different and quite beautifully drawn.
The only fault I have with this title, is that it ended too soon. Another volume would have been fantastic... this is a good read, the story is just so sweet, I hope it gets released in the US, I would like to own this piece of man candy ^0~
I loved the artwork and the plot wasn't boring or draggy...I only wish the mangaka continued more on Mao and Syon's relationship developement...oh well, i really loved this BL manga ^^ hehe
