Very interesting development of the MC

After 850+ chapters now, I can say the scope of the story, and the nature of the MC, unfolds in a way that is both very natural (in terms of how it progresses) and very bold (in terms of how different it becomes over time).
I am especially impressed with the way the author starts by immersing us in a simple setting with a seemingly-simple MC, and brings us along as we learn the depths to both. Best of all, the MC is developed consistently... what you see later is not inconsistent with his younger self; just more mature, or more in keeping with his expanded abilities and responsibilities. That kind of development is hard to get right, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it so well-executed here.
The MC's emphasis on relationships based on trust also leads to some warm segments of the story (especially in Volume 4, where he happens to reconnect with many people he had met earlier in the story). It also leads to a very "practical" reaction when he is dealing with people who consistently demonstrate that they cannot be trusted. If they will be a threat to him, he is not shy about removing them.
As for the setting, it is nicely-developed over time, and features many of the elements that readers of the genre will expect (conflicts between cultivation levels, multiple realms, competing sects, hidden places to explore, and so on). The luckiness of the MC in such stories is present, but avoids common shortcomings, like having the MC be so heavily-carried by his luck that there is effectively no personal strength, or having him pull un-foreshadowed escape abilities out of his hat just when they are needed.
Overall, I'd say this is a very, very solid entry in this genre.

The novel is still in the early stage in terms of plot. So far, it seems like a generic novel. The MC is hard worker who is currently just training to grow stronger, and fighting people that underestimated him. Nothing big happens to the MC yet because he is still weak compared to the powerhouses, so people don't know how badass the MC will be in the future.
The MC personality is so-so because he haven't experience the outside world yet. He is currently still at his school and hasn't adventure out yet so he's like a blank page waiting to be written.
Overall, I rather read this novel when there are hundreds of chapters translated . I can tell that the novel will get better later on, but for right now, nothing spectacular has happened yet.
