I admit that the title of this manga sort of scared me (Super Lovers sounds like a very kinky playful yaoi with a ton of sex and probably a very weird story, lol) and then the look of the uke, who looks like he's way young.
After reading it though, I really can't look at it as pseudo-shota (plus he is 15 - it's not real shota!) anymore, no matter how tiny Ren is!
He is very mature, real and doesn't come across as too young at all.
His short stature also isn't that big of a deal (at least so far in the manga) because it's not as extreme as other pseudo-shota works like Okane Ga Nai, ect.
Instead, this is a rather down-to-earth, realistic and sweet story of a guy with a brother complex an his 3 younger siblings.
The fact that Ren struggles so much with himself, figuring out his feelings and then trying to change their relationship from just brothers to more is done extremely well.
I love that the uke here actually wants to possess the seme as much as the seme wants the uke; their feelings are mutual!
Many yaoi mangas have rough semes forcing the uke, and then the uke just kind of going along with it thinking that must be love but in reality they only care that the seme kinda likes them.
It's soooo nice and refreshing to see an uke who desires the seme this much, makes moves, initiates kisses, worries about them and wants to make sure their feelings are mutual.
I'm glad I read this, can't wait for the following chapters and recommend this to anyone who is after a real story, lovable characters, a strong uke who tries hard not to be a child, and a slow-building romance.
Considering I'm a big fan of Abe sensei's "Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!", it's not surprising that I love this work as well!
(If you haven't read "Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!" and you don't mind a shonen ai relationship that does not go beyond teasing and kinda flirting, and especially if you want a long story - 26 volumes !!! - then READ THAT as well!!!!)
