Description

Average, unremarkable Ai Maekawa navigates school life unnoticed... until one day when a spiteful classmate totally humiliates her in front of everyone. Determined to jettison her embarrassing past, she overhauls her image and enrolls at a new high school where no one knows the old Ai. Wow, Amazing Manga

I put off reading this for a long time because the blurb made it sound superficial and cheap. Was looking for something new, and stumbled accross this, and since I didn't have anything better to read at the time, gave it a shot. 1 chapter in, I was hooked. Ai is amazing. Tough, determined, yet fragile as well. Has the amazing ability to transform from average to gorgeous, when she puts her war face on. Having fallen in love with a guy, she goes all out to keep him. She is easily one of my all time favorite heroines in manga. Much different from the weepy, whiny, wilting girl who always needs to be saved. Ai is tough, and doesn't put up with being mistreated.

I enjoyed the humor, as well as how real the girls relationships are. Unless you've known some girls, you have no idea how catty they can be, and indeed are. Particularly when they're fighting over a guy. The subtle, biting innuendos, the sharp humor. The rage and anger, all is expressed in this manga beautifully. Only thing I thought would have been better, is if Ai realized finally that So just wasn't worth it. Lots of other guys out there, sure theres another one, perhaps not as good looking, but who at least would be faithful to her. Even still, excellent manga, one I'm definitely going to add to my collection.

This one will leaving you doubting why you read it (bad pun intended)! Superficial manga in which ugly duckling Ai is "ugly" no matter what she looks like. Really a stinker. Waste of time and download effort. Can't believed this was published when there are so many better manga to bring to the US!

This manga is really annoying! The story is has potential but there's too much drama and the characters aren't all likable. The art is good but it's the story's boring and not worth reading! IF your extremely extremely bored then go ahead and read it! The first few chapters were ok but then.... it just became totally pathetic and repetitive.

This is no doubt a great manga, the ending could have been better, but i was satisfied with it. As Kaneyoshi mentioned in the last chapter, Ai is suppose to represent the "everygirl" that's in all of us, and she successfully did it. SO was protraited alittle bit over the top for me and the girls that chased after him. The head strong protaginist transforrmed herself from an ugly duckling to a swam, but kept her innerself unchanged. Through out the story, I'm really impressed by her determination in staying true to herself and her love for SO (if it was me, i would have went for someone else). She sure is a fighter, eventhough she didn't win every battle. Too bad the story wasn't longer...
Also, this manga reflects the pressure of school and the peer pressure (espically on the topic of sex) faced by highschoolers. She definately wasn't sterotpyical, as protraited by her bestfriend. Ai went against what was forced and bragged about. Good for her!
The story overrall is lighthearted and comical, but gets a little bit sad near the end. I can read it over and over again. And...I've read many many shojo manga, but this one had its own "spark" to it.

A must read 🙂

the story gets so boring after hearing the main girl whine about the boy whole time. the artwork isnt bad, but not that great either. Extremely typical and not worth your time.

wow.... this manga actually succeeded in frustrating me... sorry to those who liked it but personally this just got on my nerves. she keeps on grovelling after So, instead of realizing her worth apart from a guy and though i admit that yes, a woman should have respect in who she is and take care of herself, it also goes beyond looks and Ai just never completely got that. she relied too much on her new look to gain love and acceptance instead of who she is. (i just kept reading cuz i was hoping some sense would get into her but never did..)

A very sweet and classic shoujo manga 🙂 Art is very good and also a very enjoyable, funny, sometimes a bit sad, story. A little of everything and also awesome!

Just a bunch of drama queens and stupid typical confrontation. I swear, this manga made me so freaking mad and at the same time very, very, very bored. So, not worth it.
