Meh....Sō Ichinose is not the guy for her, especially for someone like Ai who has such inner doubts. If she were smart she should have gone with his best friend, Yuichiro, he was the better choice. The manga was a big disappointment for hinting that he liked her (and he treated her better then Sō) and yet she still ended up with the jock.

The plot isn't that great, very genric
character wise very blah (plain), there isn't really any standout character.
if your looking for a manga to pass time, this is the one for you.

doubt...plays with the emotional insecurities of an average female teenager. instead of promoting the idea that you should accept yourself to who you are it tells you in order to 'bag the guy like' you gotta define yourself from plain and be pretty.

of course theres nothing wrong with being groomed and liking to look nice. being attracted to another person's beauty also does not necessary make you 'shallow' either.
but you dont have to be so high maintenance, put on loads of make up and starve yourself crazy just to get a boyfriend that you love and loves you back!

all in all, the main theme to the story is complete BULL. but if you're convinced you're not going to be influenced by the superficial things the heroine is into, then go for it...

oh and SO is a mean idiotic selfish loser that cares about no one BUT himself.

she choose Sō instead of yuichir

I liked the manga and didn't like it at the same time. I do agree wit most of the people here about the ending. I didn't get why her friends are cheering her on over a guy that she was been with for over two years, that end up picking another girl TWICE! grr i rarely like So at all through out the manga. i liked yuu more but he didn't even try.... i liked ai personality when she tells how hardd she worked but i felt she was trying soo hard for So and for all the wrong reasons. you think that because you were so called "ugly" before you want a guy to look beyond the appearance but So seem like he only liked her because she pretty.

I hated the ending. Nothing really happened...

It really is true, this manga is annoying. And the characters are so annoying too!! I absolutely hate the main character. She's all stuck up!! And Sô, what a crappy male protagonist. There were funny parts but the story dragged on so much. Now I can see why it got cancelled. What a pathetic manga. I wouldn't reccomend this...

Ai's personality wasn't that bad although the idea that physical beauty is valued strongly etc etc is not to my liking, her character was funny and surprising. I also think that changing yourself and having the courage to completely "Re-do" your appearance is a plus (not a necessity in entirely). The manga started out okay then it got a bit annoying past volume 4 and when she was almost a slave to her "love". The manga is not really that bad but not exactly good either, the art is okay albeit a bit bias towards the guys. The girls were drawn a lot better than the guys--I even think Ai was very pretty, I especially loved the covers.

Yes, it's rushed and there were some sides to it that needed to be polished. The one thing I really hate about this manga was So's personality at the end. His attitude towards the relationship was simply horrible. And Ai is an idiot for staying with someone who has chosen other women TWICE over her and not even properly apologizing for it.

For the plot and characters I'd give it a 5 or even a 4 but because I liked the art I'd give it a 7.

This was a great series up to the last volume. From the sounds of things, it got canceled suddenly, and so the mangaka kind of threw an ending together.
