Nekomimi (catgirls) or Inumimi (doggirls) or any other animal types in a manga with some kind of romance theme. Can't find much of this kind of stuff out there. If you know of any please let me know!

I actually enjoy shojo alot.

kanokon has an anime adaption, just finished a 12 episode run
Inumimi
inukami also has an anime adaption, ran 23 episodes and a couple ova's I think

I know there is more, I just cant think of any. note these are all comedy/romance/ecchi. not so much a shoujo style manga

I already know of and have read or watched as much is currently available for those.

Sorry, these 2 are the only one which come up to my mind with an importance romance in it.

I knew many with people who can transform from human to animal and viceversa (like Ranma/Fruits Basket/etc.) but I suppose that's not what you're asking for.

You mean Magical Meow Meow Taruto? There's a manga of that too, Mahou Shoujo Neko Taruto
