are they brothers by blood,if so then how?

hmmmm... they cant be brothers. If Ace's mother died when she gave birth to him and Gold Roger was executed 20 years ago since Luffy is 17 (according to one piece wikipedia) then they are not related by blood. But from the other hand you can see that Luffy and Gold Roger look a bit similar but comparing personalities Garp and Luffy are more "light heads" from Ace. Maybe Roger was related to Dragon somehow cousins or something ;p

Imo even if Ace isn't Roger's son they could still be related by blood somehow. Maybe Roger and Dragon were cousins or something.. Roger looks similar to Luffy and Ace, Garp and Luffy all have "crazy" personalities so I think they could be of the same family.
Even if Ace isn't actually Roger's son, the marines could have said that for political reasons like sending a message to the world like "we executed the Pirate King and now we will execute his son, all of your base are belong to us lol" so they could openly declare war to the pirates.
I believe that all this was Blackbeards plan to capture Ace and deliver him to the marines. Reason? maybe he didnt want to have Whitebeard on his back coz he is plotting something or he simply wanted the marines to get engaged in an all out war with the pirates to reduce competition in his goal of becoming Pirate King.
Maybe even the marines themself want to help Blackbeard become the Pirate King beacuse they believe they could control him or benefit from an alliance with him for better control over the world or just over the "troublesome" pirates.

I really didn't expect that Ace/Roger connection..
Luffy has to be Dragon's son. I would think Garp would be more closely related to Roger than Dragon is.

Any guesses as to what Luffy's bounty will be now? Seeing how he is the only person in history to break into Impel Down. And because of that, tens(seems like it) of pirates were able to escape.
So first Enies Lobby, then Impel Down, and now finally Marinford. The only person to ever attack all 3 main points of the Marines' structure.
(You don't actually have to answer since I'm sure it's been asked about 80 times in this forum already 🙂 )

Edit: lol it seems like the wiki's about Roger and Ace were updated in less than 20 minutes of the release.

I'm still in shock, 2 very exciting chapters read from Bleach and One Piece. One Piece is the best.....Can't wait for Luffy to shock the world by showing up at the Execution.

I really like your theory but one question: why did gold d roger take the name Gold instead of Monkey?
To hide where he came from?

when I read this chapter I went back to read the other chapter then realized that ace never said that he was dragon kid. I realized all ace said was that both luffy and ace just had a world-class criminal blood flowing through their veins

Dragon to Luffy

Roger to Ace

Oh but that means that Luffy and Ace are probably not really biological brothers but step-brothers
