I want a manga that has two love interests who are in a relationship that isn't all that healthy. Could be argumentative, abusive (physical or mental), reckless, difficult - basically, you have to ask, "Why are you two even together?"

** Great Example:**
Princess (Skadei and Lala)
Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang (Main guy has the personality of Skadei, but doesn't let his anger control him

** To A Lesser Extent:**
Boys Over Flowers (the way they keep torturing one another)

Basically what I want is for there to be two people (Guy/Girl) that are in love with one another and cause each other pain, but refuse to let go of that person, no matter how much pain they're causing to the one they love, because of their obsession/love for that person.

I would really like it to be historical, but modern is alright, too. Please no sex scenes; Josei and implications that the two main characters are having sex is fine.

Aishite Kudasai, Sensei - I don't know if this would be too sexual for you; there's no explicit sex drawings or anything but there are some frenching/touching scenes.

I'll throw Aku no Hana out there too since it's one of my favourites in the destructive relationship genre, but I don't interpret their relationship as romantic (some people do).

Basara - not super toxic or dangerous as it's more forbidden and star-crossed lover scenario.

I would recommend Bokura no Koi wa Shi ni Itaru Yamai no You de. A little smut to it, but I think it's fine. 😛
