I saw that you started reading Basara and i would definitely urge you to finish reading it! it gets so good XD
and if you can stand Basara's art style (i know some people can't) I DEMAND you read
7 Seeds <3 <3 <3 it's so good!
there is a whiny useless female protagonist (Natsu), that is the focus for the first volume or two, whom a lot of the fans hate (i love her) BUT she is a good contrast to MANY competent characters. and her uselessness makes sense 😛
plot:
this isn't really a spoiler but....

The world learns about some natural disaster that will wipe out humanity so Japan selects four groups of seven people (+ a mentor) to be put in a catatonic sleep until the world is safe for humans. The manga starts with one of the groups waking up and discovering that they are in a completely different world. Tons of crazy scary monsters, exciting scenes and sad scenes.

okay I'm going to stop ranting now and suggest some more manga 😛
Shonen:
Vagabond-but only if you are okay with mature realistic fighting manga
(REAL:it doesn't really pertain to your search but it is good and the same author as Vagabond. about wheelchair basketball, very sad. Contains nudity.)
Fairytale- i third this or second it
Psyren: it reminds me of bleach but...better and less silly.
Bakuman-same creators as deathnote, but very different plot. about manga-ka 🤣
Ral Grado- same artist as deathnote. silly-echi. female nudity?
Claymore: i haven't read a lot but it is gooood! and very serious >:-|

Shoujo!!
Dengeki Daisy
Happy Cafe- really strong female character (literally) cute and fluffy
Kimi ni Todoke-
Otomen- I started reading it just as something silly and it has become one of my favorite manga 😀
Akuma to Love Song-
Nodame Cantabile- don't be put off by the art! it is delightfully WEIRD.
Yanki-kun to megane-chan-
Yume Miru Taiyou - pretty standard shoujo but Zen makes it worth it
Lovely Complex- i love reading this over and over again and it is always funny 😀
Skip beat
Strobe Edge- seems like cliche shojo but it just misses the cliques-like protagonist gets called out by a group of would be bullies and protagonist lectures them and storms off.

also
Yotsuba&!
and
Azumanga daiho

sorry for that wall of text! 🤣 I tend to write a lot when i'm sleepy. 🤢
I hope you find a good manga to read!
