Amaya_ aren't you like to young to be reading that?
I'm not trying to say what you should read and what you shouldn't (Because I never worried about the age limit myself in the past) but if you read something labeled as mature, you have to expect stuff that might be hard on your stomac to handle...

-is not too young-
yeah, when something is labled mature it usually contains the "full human body," but UP was a bit more than I expected (&I didn't even get to the part with the pig before I dropped it)..

I guess that the being "mature" enough to be able to stomach something just means you have been shocked often enough to be dull to the shock. If i showed that pig scene to the average "mature" person from the 18th century i would probably be spending time in prison after haven throughly disgusted somebody.

I don't think you'd have to wait a lot in prison... they probably wouldn't wait for the sun to rise to behead you!
But if you look at it that way, any women that would have dared to wear pants at that time would have probably suffered a very atrocious fate... Times have changed, this stuff is still atrocious and unnatural (at least for me) but it isn't as shocking as that. And probably in a couple of centurys we might see stuff like that in the educational channel at 8am just after the teletubies... or we might go back to full conservationisme ...Who knows?

Well, there was a bit of bestiality going on in the good old days, when people around here still had pantheons of Gods before they became stingy and decided to cut down to one. I remember there being statues of a women and a swan.
But considering 18th century i am sure stealth would be right and my head would be hanging from some tree. I might even be burned as a whitch. Wait, whats the male word for whitch?

@amaya, i too can not watch the teletubbies without something in my spine telling me that something has gone awfully wrong and they are something to be feared.

lol yeah the Teletubbies are some scary shit. But if you want to see some other scary stuff (if not scarier), try watching some french kiddie shows and such. Some of them are REALLY freaky (i dont know how the hell those shows dont scare the crap out of the little kids).

Also to answer bully_jesus's question. Male witchs are called Warlocks

really? warlock sounds a lot more powerfull than whitch. I guess having war in a name almost always does that. I remember thinking tht wardrobe is an awfully mighty sounding word for a piece of furniture.
frnech kiddy shows, haven't seen any so far, will keep away from them

Actually warlock it's not from "war" (wawr), it's from old English wǣr which mean "oath" or "pledge" (warlock litteraly means oath breaker, probably "going against god's will" in Christian sense), in contrast to "war" which decent from old Germanic "wers".

Wardrobe is from ward+robe (ie something that protects clothes),but i'm sure you are aware of that.

just random inquiry

French kiddy shows are awesome and creative, besides children have very different sense of fear (if at all)

I must say that I also do find the teletubies to be... disturbing to say the least...
But I don't know what frightening french kiddies shows you're talking about Lizard. I used to watch those when I was a kid, there was one named "club Dorothée"... Well I didn't care about all the stupid singing and stuff that was happening, I just wanted to watch my DragonBall that was being aired as part of that show...
I got to watch DragonBall, Kimagure Orange Road (Max et compagnie) and Saint Seiya (Les Chevaliers du Zodiac) thanks to that show. Well I don't know about the recent shows though... haven't watched TV in french for at least 7 years now.
But I think we like totally got off-topic. right?
To get back to topic:
Has anyone read any of the "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni"? (Apparently the colors are part of the title so had to keep them lol)
I watched the anime, and I must say that it was way better than I was expecting it to be by seeing the cast... (They looked all like lollies). I wonder if the manga conveys the same weird feeling of discomfort that the anime did thought the story.

I've read a lot of guro, but guro doesn't actually scare me as much as good psychological manga. I found Homunculus really frightening, because it revealed just how ****ed up we human beings can be. What frightened me the most was that I couldn't begin to guess my own homunuclus -- my own true form.
