Quote from Manick

and maybe the world's stupidity level will fall...

I don't belive that would be enough to make the world's stupidity level fall...
As once said by Einstein:

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

note: this is one of my favorite quotes ever... so I had to use it when I found a chance right?

You know......I'm not sure how stupidity level will change by that...

as Voltaire once said "To succeed in the world it is not enough to be stupid, you must also be well-mannered."

Manick, don't you think that this is a sign that the forums are growing and becoming much more of a community?

Who knows... maybe 🙂

That's a really good quote.

I wasn't really thinking earlier, I was just trying to be sarcastic. But if I had to make an argument, I would say that a great influence in stupidity is environment. Stupidity can be defined many ways, but I guess I was loosely trying to make the argument that stupidity is in part caused by a fight over the planets resources. If we somehow control population growth, then we can decrease the overall exploding world population, help to ensure the existence of resources, and decrease at least one form of stupidity.

How this conversation got here I'm not sure.

i say that stupidity is also subjective... and relative

i mean, compared to a rock, i'm a super genius xD

what manick described is the fundamental economic problem of unlimited wants and limited resources (can't believe i still remember something from econ)
of course scarcity does make us do stupid things

don't mention economics......it looks easy but that interest crud and the demand crud confused the hell out of me. I found calculus more easy to learn than economics.

In my opinion the greatest problem with us humans is our greed and lust for power (and the other lust to lol).
We all want to be n°1... but they can only be one n°1, all the others will have to lose. And we all know that and are ready to do anything to get what we want.
I always though of humans the same way as parasites or bacteria, we destroy our environment until we kill it and then eventually have to die with our host.
Well it's just human nature after all... to be stupid, to wage war, to kill each other... don't say you don't enjoy watching all the killings in a good movie or anime right? Or that you don't enjoy watching that underdog rise magically from the bottom to become n°1? well that's because we can see ourself in there our wishes and desires...
Woah... I think I read to much "psychological" manga... I should go get some sleep and clear my head lol

humans need the excitement of murder, violence injustice, death, tragedy, comedy, love, lust, and so forth. They need it to survive because once their basic needs are filled, there's no reason to live except to get pleasure out of it. Humans can not be viewed as violent creatures because according to Darwin's theory, the fittest survives. As of right now, intelligence kept humans alive and made humans the king of Earth. Pity our actions against nature and animals. But also understand that Nature is not merciful and Animals are still animals. If you get injured in a forest, flies will lay their eggs upon your flesh and wolves will come to eat you. It is the cycle of life and no more. So what is the meaning of our existence? There is no answer to that question. You'll have to find it yourself.

I hereby present a new thought, although not as relevent as exponential population increase, much easier to prove.
The big mystery here is:
Why do people who read yaoi, not post on the forum? Yaoi topics have come and gone a few times, but nobody was there waving the flag for male/male romance.
So, i would appeciat if you could al start some conspiracy theories regarding this freak of nature.
good bye y'all

You want us to start talking about gay people? Fine then, answer this question: Why do you buy Yaoi mangas every week bully_jesus? Do you find this male-male relationship exciting? [Not that I discriminate against gay people]
