If you do notice, they often portrayed Japanese Generals or just Japanese in general as green skin with glasses and big teeth. Actually, this was brought up by my History teacher. His analysis, to make them look more alien and strange. But of course, that was the past.

The current cartoons, maybe not the best, but much cleaner in content.
