I can't exactly be attracted to a gay guy (such a sad, sad world.) That fact makes me feel so uninterested. Though if I could be a peeping Tom, that'd be a different story. For the sex ~ You know?

In yaoi, reading the extra bits (that aren't the sex) are great, I even like those bits, but there is a reason why shounen-ai irritates me (like my brain is being ripped apart), and why I avoid it. 🤣

So...After some thinking, my answer is no? I think. Give me Average looking or better guys and a hole to look through, then yeah, I guess so.

But other than that, I really have no interest.

I am beyond saving now.

I know a few gay guys that I thought were cute, but then again, that was before they came out of the closet....

Most of the gay guys I know of are overly gay, which isn't attractive to me. Crossdressing...talking girly...just being open in general, it's a turn off. It all depends on the personality. If I think a guy is cool, but I know he's gay, I'd probably like him a little bit. But then again, it hasn't happened to me yet so I can't really say.

I don't like real live men kissing as much as ones in manga though. Or at all.

I think yes, as long as theyre not ugly and at least a little cute. And if they're not flamboyantly gay. We seem to stereotype gay guys as sensitive and that's why they sometimes seem attractive

Not all guys like Yuri... I am one that don't really see much of a point about GirlxGirl o.o Yeah 2 girls is a hot sight, but if I can't join then there is no fun.

Younger guys have less experience and usually need an older woman to teach them (older as in a couple of years older not a fucking petrified tree), and the same applies to most girls (girls go after confidence and only guys with experience have lots of that).

Like Rae, I think physical attraction is what it is for an individual, regardless of what that individual says or does otherwise. So, the guy is going to be attractive (or not) to me whether he's gay, bi, or straight. However, he can lose whatever "bonus" he might receive from being visually attractive when he opens his mouth, and I'm not big on flamboyance either. But neither of those has got anything to do with his orientation.

In general, it is more fun to yaoi fangirls to slash attractive males together, though.

A Superior Girls Love
In many forums and blogs I've noticed this overwhelming trend of thinking that girlxgirl love is pure and wholesome and more emotionaly fulfilling where straight and boyxboy love is lacking in these qualities.

I don't really understand where this sentiment comes from, why would a woman be a +1 and man be a -1? Why can a female have a "perfect" relationship and males only mess things up? The only thing I can think of is pulling from the thought pattern that women are a 'perfect 50's woman' who knows no wrong (or has a thought in her head), and with these perfect women they can only have a perfect relationship. But if you put a male into this relationship you are only inputting a corupt device, because men are inherently evil. Which is ridiculous but is a ideal which has existed for centuries.

Inadequate Penis
Simply put, men don't want to see another man's penis for fear that this 'other man' will have a larger/more capable penis than themselves. It is linked heavily with low self-esteem.

And one of the more interesting opinions I have found is from Mawootad "girls make far better characters than guys, so the fact that there can be more better characters is a plus."
Is it true that being a male character limits you on what you can be portrayed as? Do only females have limitless possibilities? If this statement is true then are we backtracking and suddenly the female's are the ones with depth and male character's are just there for a pretty face? Or is the male gender in whole just less deep in general?

Why do girls find Yaoi hot?

After plowing through the endless supply of "OMG because they are so HOTTTTT!!! drool" yadda yadda I found some interesting reasons for why the female gender enjoys yaoi.

The Forbidden Fruit

Penis Envy

Androphobia
I came across one article from the publisher of Yaoi Press that oulines how women like yaoi because in any given relationship with a man a woman will usually be objectified and at any point could be (and most likely will be) the reciever of abuse. But if the two characters are male, the female viewers don't have to have such an emotional fear that the one being abused is them, because both characters are male. Thus they obviously don't have as much invested in the characters, and won't feel the fear that the one being abused is them. yaoipress

Honestly, I don't understand why there are hordes of young females that want to read yaoi/see two males have sex. (Not that there is anything wrong with them liking it - to each their own, I just don't understand it). But, from what I've garnered from personal experience and others talking on the subject yaoi/yuri is the equivalent of smut -- it's supposed to give you those "butterfly feelings" while maintaining some essence of plot. And I don't understand why yaoi gives these girls butterfly feelings when it's with two males who irl would want nothing from them (because you are a female and they like males.) And how does (as a female) watching homosexual males help you "figure out who you want to date"? Are you suggesting this helps females discover they want to date gay males? I'm sorry. I guess I should realize that some people have no reading and comprehension skills at all. Some people find other people pretty. This can be an indicator of sexual attraction. That means they have an interest in seeing this person in a sexual manner. This allows them to pursue their interest and get a date.

Now, if you have two people, and you want to see them in a sexual manner, putting them together would make sense. Sure, you're not involved, but the fact that some people are VISUALLY STIMULATED means that seeing the event is still an attractive prospect.

You're coming to a queer conclusion. That the girls or guys are attracted to the homosexuality rather than the appearance of the characters isn't accurate, but you assume it so. No, they're attracted to the appearance, and want to see such a person do sexual things. They don't necessarily need to date this person. This allows yaoi and yuri to flourish.

So please, practice inferring information. It will give you a whole other level of insight into the world.
