A better argument is that they're only available for about a chapter, which happens in a lot of manga.

I gave up after volume 1 because it seemed the protagonist was incapable of making good decisions. But you know, that's just me.

I don't read a lot of harem, not really my thing but I think IO counts? It has a harem label at least.

Idk I kinda liked Nishino more than Toujo.

Toujo was wayy too wishy washy in my opinion, and that other girl... big breasted, very outspoken/energetic (name escapes me... oh well she wasn't important). I liked Nishino cuz she was the moderation between Toujo and big-breast. She was spunky and spoke her views but wasn't as obnoxious as big breasted girl and she was definetly not unbearably shy like Toujo.

well not to ruin the story, but decision making is the first quality of any harem lead

but i vote ichigo 100%, there are some other older great ones but ichigo is still the only manga to make me go on such an emotional rollercoaster(yelling at screen, arms flailing...etc)

I don't know that Negima can be considered a harem just yet. Yes, there are a number of girls interested/attracted to the main lead but Negi isn't really romantically attracted to anyone of them. He sees them all as his students and friends first.

Hell, he even said he can't make any kind of decision like that yet. He's, what, maybe eleven now, thats still a bit too young. Not to say it can't/won't turn into one in the future, but right now I'd classify it more in the fighting area than the romantic area.

As for the best harem I'd have to agree Ichigo 100% is #1 followed closely by I's.

I'll second Omamori Himari it has the right ingredients for a good harem manga IMO. Love Hina was good but you knew who Keitaro would end with right off the bat in Chapter 1.
