I want a plot where the the mc is completely awesome and can dominate pretty much everyone and put in a bad situation yet can easily get out of it, though it takes a long time. He/she should have some sort of a dark past that can somewhat explains his actions. Whether awesomeness comes from physical fights or psycholgical battles or cooking matches does not matter.

Some examples:
Usogui
Liar game
Monodaijitachi ga isekai kara kusu sou desu yo? Z
No game no life
Luck stealer
Shoukugeki no souma
Black cat(kinda....)

Sudden bursts of power in which in certain moments the mc can beat anyone yet is usually pretty worthless is fine as well.

However the mc needs to have a reason he or she is so strong, aka i do not want anything like onepunch man. Though somewhat humorous, It makes no sense why he's so strong...

Thanks!

Saki, if you're OK with reading about Mahjong. The protagonist has a dark past involving her parents divorce, developed her oddly specific powers for legitimate reasons, and absolutely dominates the competition. She faces some brief trouble around chapter 35ish but is back to dominating the national championships in the current arc.

Gamble Fish maybe
Trinity Seven for sure.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei as well, but you're probably reading this already. If not, then why?

Gamble fish fits my tastes but ive already read it. I tried saki but it turned out pretty weird for me. I know how to play mahjong but you don't feel the pressure of the game when reading about mahjong rather than something like poker or a fight.

Noblesse....i really don't....partly because it's so long and also because I've heard some pretty bad stuff about it.

I haven't even heard of any of the mangas you said, tsubamex, so i'll try it out. Thanks. And sunder, your mangas seem intereesting as well.

I'd definitely second Ares. The art is a little rough (let's call it unique), but the story is really food the main characters are all exactly what you are looking for.

Well, you probably already know them but you can always try;

Berserk, Vinland saga, Vagabond and, Übel Blatt

Also, about Onepunch-man, we just don't know why he's so strong for now, it doesn't mean there is no reason, although a mostly humorous manga, most things had an explanation up to this point, one could expect Saitama powers to be from the same origin of the mysterious beings which hadn't been explained as of yet

Vinland Saga

Right now the mc is going trough a pretty important arc so it might seem like he gave up or was beaten, but he is just maturing

If you don't mind reading a novel, then I would recommend this.
The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel): There are valid reasons and tons of hard work behind his abilities & skills. And he's smart. ...What else can I say w/o spoiling you? 😛

But for manga/anime, I would say Capeta. In this case, I wouldn't say he completely dominates all of his opponents, but he has talent and figures his way out of each situation pretty quickly.

It's fine if you don't want to read it or find the length of Noblesse annoying. Well, nothing bad about an action shonen being around 300 though. But don't say things or decide anything just because people say it. Pretty bad stuffs, eh? Would you mind telling me a single manga which isn't criticised? Every work has both positive and negatve factors..... Don't assume and say things without reading it first. Sigh~ 😮

Gun x Clover assassins, only about 10 chapters have been released so it hasn't really gone to the mc's dark past alot.

Saijou no Meii is a manga about a genius doctor though there isn't really much of a reason for his skills.

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan it's about an esp who could probably wipe out humanity in 3 days but doesn't, it's mostly comedy.

I'll second Dendrobates because the mc really can get out of a bad situation

And Ares
