Seconded The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel)
Ilegenes - Kokuyou no Kiseki - the reason for his superiority is explained in the later chapter.
Is light novel fine? If yes,
Sword Art Online (Novel) - There's a high probability that you've read/watch this one, or did't read it because of the bad comment in the internet. Please note that my opinion is based on the light novel, that I read before the anime is released and people start to complain about how mediocre it is (therefore affecting my feeling about the story). Or maybe I'm just bored after reading it over 6 times. Its a great read anyway.
Another novel youHigh School DxD (Novel) The protagonist started out weak, but later become really strong. While is a quite common plot, the MC really give the "strong MC" feeling instead of the usual become stronger than before, but is still a weakling compared to the MC that other manga gives.

I've read gun x clovers and i loved every chapter of it. That's exactly what I'm looking for btw. Did not know that for high school dxd, stopped after the mc became a little too pathetic for me to bare but if he gets really powerful later on, i may pick it up again.
Onepunchman....it just makes no sense...100 pushups + buncha normal worklouts x100 = strongest guy ever.
I have seen/read sao, have read (and loved) ubel blatt.
Also, mangas like team medical dragon and samurai champloo also work pretty well.
@strixflash i apologize. That is true and I agree that it's the case for many mangas as well and will just leave it at that. I did however read maybe ten chapters or so and disliked the artwork. It's not a hatred of manhwa, I just didn't like the style of the artwork or the style of webcomics, which also explains my reluctance to try ares (though i may since so many people seem to be recommending it).

Noblesse....i really don't....partly because it's so long and also because I've heard some pretty bad stuff about it.
How in the holy mother of hell have you read anything bad about Noblesse?
Noblesse is exactly what you're looking for too...
Try Id out. (I want the next volume to come out t-t)
Is this me in a nutshell?
Pretty much.

Frankly speaking I don't care whether you read Noblesse or not. It's your choice after all, but since you talked about the artwork I would have to post here.
The artwork completly changes after the first half of Season one. Also, the first half of season one is boring as it doesn't focus on main story. If you think it's boring then I advise you to atleast read it till when Jake fights Rai (around Ch. 74 or 75, I think). You know there are bounds to be reasons for so many people suggesting you to read it and not to mention its ranking.
The change in artstyle: (Don't read the bubbles...) You can check how artwork has changed from Ch.10 here (Mod/admin, I am just posting the link to prove my point....it's not an adv.)
Season 1-

Season 4

The artwork has changed over time.

You can also try Wild Life. Wild Life may not seem like it at first, but as the series progresses, you'll find that although the MC is hopelessly deficient in certain areas, his potential and skills in other areas are miles above the rest.
Edit: Whoops, forgot that you've already read Shokugeki, so here's another suggestion after reading Gun x Clover. Gokusen: MC is a teacher, acts dumb, but can secretly kick everyone butt.
