Hi,
I just read this Jaryuu Tensei and liked it, especially the start.
I would like something similar. Action genre may be important here.
OR simply: Animal protagonist with human level intelligence.
(maybe not your typical animal point of view kinda stories??)
Thanks...

Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? (Novel)

Re:Monster (Novel)

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (Novel)

Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta - Saikyou Igai Mezasa Nee (Novel)

the first three have manga adaptations, the fourth im not too sure... These novels have the reincarnated into monster MCs but just like most of them they strive for a more human shape, Im not too sure about this next one though

Muimui-tan (Novel)

since this request seems hard fulfilling, I wouldn't mind humanoid beast forms.
like in Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho

anything different from the usual nekomimi?

You can feel free to recommend any great manga comes to mind after this...

Not action, but comedy slice-of-life, but I'm Busamen! is great fun. Mokuyoubi no Furutto is also similar but more weird. And the cats act even less cat-like than in Busamen.

Sumikko no Sora-san also has several POV moments from the turtle, who narrates most of the story, actually. It's philosophical slice-of-life.

And only one chapter out so far, but Beastars is looking pretty interesting. More of a mystery, Zootopia-esque thing though.

Oh, and Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki's secondary protagonist is a human turned into a frog, but it's also slice-of-life.
