Maybe they're thinking of iphone apps? The whole approval apps process for the iphone has annoyed a ton of devs.

It probably has to do with inappropriate apps getting through.
Apparently there is a company making HXC porn apps... at least till apple gets a hold of them.
They are trying to protect an image.
And I guess the approval system helps filter out all the stupid ones.

and the ones that compete with Apple. Google Voice? FCC have got involved due to talk of anti-competitive agreements between Apple and AT&T. Google nicely bypassed this by offering a web-app version.
Then there is all the bs decisions like ban a dictionary app that you can look up naughty words in. Or an app to view image boards (while Apple seem to have missed the point that their own app Safari can do these too :X). Most Devs are more annoyed with the inconsistencies in the approval process even submitting a patch to an already approved App can be time consuming.
tbh I dislike the whole idea of the App Store, where a company controls what I put on MY media player/phone. 1 step forward, 2 back....

Well, Macs look quite neat. But I've always been confused while using them. I guess I'm just better with PCs. So. Yeah. I prefer PCs

PC, its more adaptable and uses a wide array of programs. When people need to run a virtual version of windows on mac just to play some games, you know something is wrong.
