Ketchup or Catsup?

Actually Catsup was first used in publication as an official spelling by Jonathan Swift (famous English author) so its not a hick version, and catsup was used just as commonly as ketchup prior to his publication. Now both catsup and ketchup are both correct spelling of the same word, catchup is also another old and still accepted spelling as well.
Ketchup. I think I just said "catsup" for the first time while answering this thread and it sounded so weird 🤣

I use ketchup, if I have to pick out of the two because no-one here would ever say catsup! But it's usually just 'tomato sauce' (made by good old Heinze).
But my Dad also calls it 'Red Rocking Horse' which is Cockney rhyming slang for 'Tomato Sauce'. But that's just a random insert into this thread. Used to make me laugh as a kid though. (And confuse my friends xD)

all forms of the word are pronounced the same, the spelling just differs, and catsup is the english spelling of a a foreign word (i believe its from an indian, as in india, word, if its not indian its definitely asian) that has been adopted for the name of sauces, tomato catsup is just one of many sauces that is considered a catsup.

I say it Ketchup, I have a very plain and boring lack of accent...sniffles ah well, at least I get to giggle when my friend says Pellow (Pillow) and my mom says Hyuls (Heels) 🤣

Ketchup or keczup (polish word, almost the same, the only difference in pronunciation is in "u" 😉
You can PM me if you need a temporary (freelance) cleaner/redrawer for some project. Especially if it's something with nice art.
Being the lazy person that I am, I'm not likely to accept anything long-term though.

I say Ketchup. But, I hear it both ways. Just like I hear different pronunciation for tomato (tuh-mey-toh / tuh-mah-toh) and potato (puh-tey-toh / puh-tey-tuh). It usually has to do with location or where people are orginally from or preferred pronunciation.
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.
Polite bump.
Who the hell uses "Catsup"? Rawr!
It's KETCHUP! >:-(
