I agree that the PS3 has a lot more going for it in terms of hardware, but it is still lagging in software. It will be interesting to see where things stand a year from now when the PS3 has some more quality exclusive software.

PS3 has FF13 and FFVs13, and the PS3 is best performance-wise.
The problem with PS3 is that it's sooososo damn expensive right now, and Xbox doesn't have any games that interest me. Plus I hatehatehate Microsoft.

Since I'm not a fan of anime games or j-rpgs, I'm really not interested in the PS3. Plain and simple. The XBox360 has far more developers and games that interest me, even though the 360 lacks the formidable hardware. But I think I'd probably rather just have a high speced PC, but that's a little bit more expensive, and doesn't get a few games I'd like.

dude...the only other games out there lol are sport games
if ya like war games the best ones are coming out only for ps3
and MGS4
if ya like sports...you can settle for a wii...i mean really if all your gonna do is play sports why not feel like your actually playing it...
besides that PS3 is going to have the best archive of games..it's problem is one...its too expensive...two...the games are still in development...and 3...it's too expensive...and frankly i don't even have an HD tv so i really can't even appreciate the quality

Well, I grew up with Playstation 1 & 2, so PS3 ftw~ Plus I'm more of a J-RPG person. Gotta love FF. 🤣

wont buy any of them until a modchip released and undubbed games starting to flow in internet. Dubbed jap games sucks.

Most of my friends and I owned the Wii+ps3. We do have great fun with the ps3, but the lack of games atm are not helping atm. I guess I have to wait for atleast 2 years to get the games I've been waiting. I think my wii hasn't been used for a good 2 months now. Plus Wii's modchip has already been made and perfectly working. Eg. Mine haha.

The difference graphically is negligible, the 360 outperforms the PS3 in some aspects such as smoother lines and vice versa but you really wont notice it when you are playing, disk space isn't a problem right now either. The 360 seems to have more problems, the PS3 is more reliable (though saying that, I've never had a problem with my 360 personally), but in reality, it all comes down to the games. At the moment, the 360 greatly wins over the PS3. We'll see what happens when the big PS3 titles come out, the tables might turn (never liked tekken, always thought it was one of the worst fighting games out there).

Also, I don't know why people seem to think the PS3 is the one for Japanese RPGs just because of FF, the 360 has quite a few good ones already out. FF games have been steadily declining since X-II, hopefully they wont make the same mistakes they did with 12.

And as for the wii, they never intended it to be as powerful. It's a party console, and it does that far better than the 360 and PS3. It doesn't need to be as good graphically.

But FFXII is great too~ It's on the same level as all the other FF games. And the PS3 does have more J-Rpg games coming out. That's a fact~ I even researched into it. >_< I still want more of them to be developed though. 🤣

Of the current generation consoles, I own a PS3 and a Wii. The PS3 was initially purchased for playing Blu-Ray discs and I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan. The Wii because I love all things Mario.

The 360 is more for FPS lovers I think. So far the only two games that have my attention on the 360 are Forza and Bioshock..... Bioshock is coming to the PS3 and Forza will probably be blown away by Gran Turismo, so I've no need for a 360, I guess. Don't really care for Halo.

Besides, I hate all things Microsoft. The last version of windows I used on my own computers was Win98. Currently use Linux/MacOS.

Graphics wise, I think they are pretty similar at the moment, but the PS3 has a lot more 'untapped' potential, IMHO. Afterall, the top two supercomputers in the world have processors which have the PS3's Cell technology.... but it remains to be seen if anyone can harness it's full power.

On a side note.... I find it baffling that no one has made a decent FPS for the Wii, considering the superiority of it's controller.... Weird eh..... Hope Miyamoto-san creates a Mario/Zelda FPS soon. Metroid doesn't count coz it's more exploration and less shooting.... but it's still pretty awesome.

Developing games for the PS3 is a gigantic pain in the ass while developers praise the 360 for being the best platform to develop games on as of yet. Sony was resting too much on their former success and didn't learn anything, they just tossed a half-assed nextgen console out there expecting a new PS2. The only thing the PS3 has going for it right now are the more famous console-exclusive titles (Final Fantasy, MGS), the 360 wins out on everything else right now when it comes to games.

And that's coming from someone who swore on Sony's former work. You just have to acknowledge that the PS3 is inferior right now in just about every way, anything else makes you a mindless fanboy.

Dude, my dislike for Microsoft has nothing to do with fanboyism.... It's hatred with a reason coz I nearly lost my job once thanks to their incompetent software. I'm very unforgiving when it comes to something letting me down. Example: My Leica once died on me for no comprehensible reason during an important photo-shoot. I've not used their cameras after that.

Regarding your comment about the 360 being easier to develop for, that may be somewhat true, but I think developers like the Wii best. Besides, the PS2 was a bitch to make games on early in its life, but went on to become one of the best selling consoles in history.

At the end of the day, it's all about what games you want to play. Millions of people would buy the PS3 just for MGS and GranTurismo.... regardless of how many titles are available on other consoles. This is a manga site which probably means most people here are more inclined with the Japanese way of gaming, which may explain the preferance for the PS3. For me it's all about GranTurismo and games by the genius Miyamoto-san.... which equates to PS3 and Wii for console ownership.
