oh yeahh... I forgot Devil Beside You was from that dumb manga. (because I didn't understand what the show was talking about, so somebody told me to find and read it). Gah, they're both so boring!!! I couldn't get through the first chapter

What about... It Started with a Kiss! I didn't watch it either because it looks dumb too. But my friends (including males 🤣 .) liked it.

Another popular one is Meteor Garden. (Hana Yori Dango's Chinese version!) I hated it!!!!

1 Litre of Tears!

did not watch it, but all my friends told me to. Even my brother watched & liked it.

I also saw My Boss My Hero, because somebody told me TOKIO was in but pfft... it was only their song!! 🤣 It wasn't my favourite either. I liked Nodame though!!

My friends told me to watch 14sai no haha (is it??) something about a 14 year old mother. And also Attention, Please. I didn't have time for them!

that one was so sad! it was good, but sad!!

Everything but ISWAK...
After the third episode I was absolutely sure that If I spend one minute more watching how that extremely stupid girl makes a total idiot from herself, then I won't have a choice but to jump out of the window. Cause of death - crashed faith in humanity.

Hey, skittles, don't judge manga after the first chapter... but this time you're right. It gets worse with each volume. At the beginning it was quite funny, but then it evolved into a drama 😔

I've seen alot, so I can't remember most of it right off hand.

I enjoyed Densha Otoko, Kimi wa Petto, Mahou no Jouken, and G.T.O.

I watched Gokusen, and some of Gokusen 2. I watched about half of I.W.G.P.

I need to finish those.

Muko Dono was good, I never finished Muko Dono 2003, though.

My favorite dorama so far is Stand Up. Sort of like American Pie, only better. I haven't finished it yet but I started watching it last year... I really need to finish it, 'cause it's sooo good. Plus Yamapi, Nino, Oguri Shun, and another-cute-guy-but-his-name-escapes-me-atm are there! 😉

The only one I've finished watching from the 1st episode to the last is Hana Yori Dango I, just because my mom wanted to watch it and had been bugging me to download the whole thing.

Well everyone from what I have read all of you missed a few of my favourite dorama and I personally think these are a must! so give a chance to the following...

Nobuta wo Produce (Extremely funny and cute)
Jyoou no Kyoushitsu (Good comedy and makes you feel kinda good about old times)
Hotman (ummm... sounds gay but nothing else can describe this other than lovely)

And I myself started this year watching some korean drama (movies are hilarious but I found that some of the shows follow some 2 guy and 2 girls pattern, but don't let it put you off, it still is excellent and refreshing after some jdrama... which in itself is good because you can go back and watch some dorama and think is great! pufff... long explanation).

Bad Family (Tons of comedy and not too much sadness to be a drama)
Witch Amusement (Not too long or complicated drama and good acting)
Coffee Prince (Funny and cute with some good amount of drama but no sadness)

Hope it helps TofuQueen and anyone else who might like to try some out I defenetly recommend these series to everyone!

Nobuta wo Produce was pretty good, saw that a while ago. I'll have to check out the other two. 😀

@amaranthine, I'm waiting for all the subs to be out before I start actually watching Stand Up!, because I like to watch 2-3 episodes per night until they're done - too hard to wait months for the next ep! 🤢

@Indreju, I saw Goong/Princess Hours, and wasn't too impressed with the acting, overall.

Part of the reason I'm mostly sticking with J-dorama is that I'm trying to learn Japanese - Goong was terribly disorienting, because I couldn't understand a word they were saying! 🤣 Also a lot of the Chinese & Taiwanese doramas that have been recommended to me in other places are LONG; one of the things I like about J-dorama is that they're usually reasonably short.

So true! There are a lot of good Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese doramas out there but they're too looong. 12 episodes - my limit.

OH!! I love fake-mikki LOL He's from TOKIO? And... did you say Nagase Tomoya?? Because he's from TOKIO =O (found out just now). OH.... so I guess they were everywhere

LOL, missed this before, but yeah the lead singer for Tokio is the lead actor in My Boss My Hero & those others I mentioned. How'd you watch MBMH, looking for Tokio, and not see him?? 🤣

@amaranthine, I can go up to 15 or so episodes with no problem, but when I see a series with 30 or 50 or more, I just...can't...watch it. 😔

I watched all of Stand Up!! and it had subtitles. I believe it was the VCD version someone put up on d-addicts. I can't remember now though, as this was probably a year ago.

Ueto Aya plays the main character in Attention, Please! She is pretty peppy, so if don't like peppy girls, maybe it's not for you. I enjoyed it though. It was interesting to see what it takes to become a stewardess. I mainly watched for Nishikido Ryo. Also the girl that played Ikegami's friend in Yamada Tarou Monogatari is in it. I can't remember her name right now.

I haven't seen many dramas you haven't so sorry I'm not much help. I loved H2, sad to hear you didn't like it as much as me. But then again, I do enjoy baseball. Anything that Yamada Takayuki is in, is on my wishlist. He's cute. 🙂

Hmmmm I may have to do some searching for Stand Up!!; I'm getting tired of waiting for the rest - yes, I'm impatient! 😀 When I looked before, I didn't see any of the later episodes with subs, but maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

Peppy girls don't really bother me, so maybe I'll give Attention Please! a try.

And H2 wasn't bad, it's just that I don't get that much out of baseball & H2 spent a lot of time on it. One thing I really like about manga is that it's pretty easy to skim over the sports bits quickly & still have a pretty good idea of what's going on. 🤣

Finished Hana Kimi last night, time to figure out what to watch next. 😁

🤣 I was planning on watching Attention Please because of Nishikido Ryo too!

Is Yamada Tarou any good? I was curious to see how Nino and Sho would do there... especially since in the manga Tarou gets to dress as a maid and be a prostitute. I can't imagine Nino doing that 🤣

🤣 🤣 Imagine it....

Well not the prostitute part, but there is quite a bit of cosplay. 😀 I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I haven't seen much of the manga so I'm not comparing the dorama to the manga. Lots of good silly fun, and also a lot of touching moments btw Tarou & his family. 😃
