I am looking for a manga about a guy that is unpopular and that not many people like gets put in a situation with a popular good looking girl. That type of thing.
Like the underdog gets the girl =]

Well, if you want to start with something classic I'd say I's and Love Hina.

Something more recent Toradora!, Mx0, Angel Densetsu, School Rumble, Happy World!, Ichigo 100%, Pastel, Rosario to Vampire.
They're in order of my preference (sorta).
