This manga is strange. It tries to mix many genres (romance-ecchi, demons-angels, fighting ect.), but because of the lack of polishing the final result is average at best. While reading it I have an unpleasant feeling od "mode-switching". After a humorous chapter I get a chapter with blood and gore (not very drastic in comparison to other series), then a chapter with fights where people cannot die not matter how hard they are beaten.
However the main plot is so deep and universal, that it's worth reading to the end. One of the deepest I've ever met in a manga.

Well at first i was like "this is gonna be like another stupid harem manga." After i read the first volume, i was like "I was right..." Then, i read a few more volumes and i was like OMFG why didnt i pick this up earlier. When it ended i wish that the mangaka made more volumes... i loved this manga and i wanted more of it. Best thing about this is that the ecchiness doesnt piss you off, but makes you laugh, and its not overly excessive. The romance in this manga is the type i like, not too corny, not to physical.
this is probably the longest review ive written.... this shows how good it is IMO.

The story begins as a romatic comedy slice-of-life manga and turns later into a dramatic action manga. I was very impressed by the character development of the main character. He begins as a nasty, selfish, weak-willed guy and becomes later more caring, strong and dependable. Warning!: This manga is not something kids should read. It contains sexual tension. It's not just ecchi...rather on the border of ecchi and hentai. |

Nothing against copying good works but if you do it, you have to make it better or at least as good as the original. This is of course a "Ah! My Goddess" copy. It starts as comedy and ends as serious material which shall force you to think about this world. It didn't work. The author rushed the story in the end and as a consequence the tragedy and mind material appeared pathetic like he wanted to make the readers cry. Not everything is bad about this manga, there were moment when I laughed and there were moments when I thought "true, that's our cruel world" but it was simply not enough. If you have 3 or 4 hours of time and nothing better to do, download this and read it.

My husband recommended this manga as a really powerful story. The first volumes (I think up through volume 8) are just kind of silly. There's a lot of humor, a lot of ecchi, and not a lot of story. I started to wonder if he was crazy for recommending this for the story. Then, during the last couple of volumes, the story takes hold and it's a lot more serious than anything you've read up to that point. It does take religious ideas and kind of twist them, but I guess being atheist, I didn't care that the story was expressing it's own new ideas of religion.
The characters were not your usual one sided pieces. They were growing and changing - and those first silly chapters were to thank for part of that. At first it seemed like a harem manga (and maybe it was) but it seems that the characters developed beyond being a love interest for the main male character and became people that he cared for as family or as close friends. The development of these non-love interest relationships seems a little bit unique for such an ecchi manga.
I usually don't like the kind of happy ending that this manga had, but it feels appropriate here. It was touching and emotional and beautiful.

| My thoughts... by Humppa on November 21st, 2008, 5:20pm |

I think this serie was great. The serie was kinda sad, funny, drama, happy. Even though tons of things happened during the series and watched how the love between the main characters grew bigger and bigger all the time. To be honest i almost cried at the end (yes, im a guy at the age of 18). The serie is extremly fantasy based with "filler chapters" in it, but they mostly were extremly fun to read. I read HW from start to finish in a day, as I got extremly addicted to it and wanted to se what happens next. I found this serie by searching my favourite manga-genre(s) The art isn't exceptional compared to some series but it weren't horrible.
as I'm bad with writing reviews, I won't talk about the plot as I end up spoiling something soon and also to hide my bad english ^^ thanks for reading and enjoy the series if you are reading it and try starting if you haven't started yet, and hopefully you enjoy it too.

| It has potential, but that's about it by fieryeagle1 on October 6th, 2008, 4:43pm |

The mangaka was IMO running short of ideas at the beginning so he made up pieces and bits that didn't really contribute to the whole story, or character development in other words, fillers). He did focus on neither character development nor the building up of a solid foundation for the story during a good portion of the manga. That's why after 11 volumes, a whole lot of loose ends were still not tied up. There were quite a number of interesting characters but they just fell off the pages as the story went on. In the end, it was just all about the main characters. Even so, the ending was not satisfying like others said. The only selling point is the light-hearted tone that remained throughout the story and the concept of life and death that shone at sadly several short moments only. |

| An enjoyable read with a rather slow start... by Anza on October 2nd, 2008, 6:57am |

Happy World is a manga that honestly I would have liked to see continue on even after it finishes the problem I have with it is more then half of the first part of the series is pretty much standard ecchi/comedy of the genre. It's not that I don't enjoy those things I do but when you get to the latter parts of the story the first half just seems a bit like filler in comparison. Despite my slight bashing I did enjoy the series and do recommend it if you enjoy the genre but I have to say the second half kicks the first half's ass without trying.

| Personally i enjoy the usual ecchi but im a rather relgious person. I know my stuff quite well and because of that i couldnt get into the manga since it viloated everyway of how an angel acts. After 11 chapters i just couldnt force myself to continue reading. Also i really hated the main character thats just me though. I laughed once but i seen the humor comming 2 miles away. |
