I'll read whatever I find interesting, may it be Shounen, Seinen, Shoujo, Josei, etc.

I like shounen/seinen better but if i was only reading thoses kind of manga i would get tired of manga pretty fast so for a change of pace i often switch between shounen/seinen and shoujo/josei.

I read everything, though my preferred genre seems to be seinen, and I am female. My shelves are typically filled with much death and dismemberment. And oddly enough, my second most common genre is shounen-ai. (And for those of you out there wondering, yeah, I read hentai too.)
Story matters most, though an Ok story can be saved by great art, and bad art with a good plot will still win out.
PS. Shounen "fight-of-the-week" stuff makes me gag, and shoujo googly-eyed love polygons make me hurl. Exceptions include Kenshin, which actually has plot and beautiful brush art, and Fruits Basket which plays with cliches and then breaks them.

I tend to find myself leaning more toward seinen than anything else. Josei as well, on occasion. I may be a girl, but a lot of shoujo stories bother me. Probably because so many of them are fluffy romances with little to no real substance. But I'll still read them on occasion, if they're funny enough. I just don't get my hopes up for anything deep or profound.

The demographic doesn't really matter to me because the genre is what really counts. I'll read whatever I think is interesting.

Like most people, I read whatever catches my interest, but the ones that do are usually female oriented.
A lot of stuff, no. Some stuff, more likely.

I read what I find interesting... And most of them are seinen and shounen, and I'm female.
It's unusual, but I do read some shoujo once in a while... I don't like the style of josei very much.

Yeah, I've noticed that I end up reading mostly shounen and seinen even though I'm female. I don't choose to read series based on the demographics, it just happens that way. I think it's because
-The art is usually better in shounen and seinen. (This is the #1 reason for me. In order to enjoy a manga, I have to get really absorbed in the story. For shoujo and josei, that usually means I have to get into a touchy-feely emotional mood... and there's no way I can do that when I'm looking at ugly drawings of people. That eliminates an unfortunately large amount of shoujo and josei for me.)
-I don't like mushy, angsty, drooly, obsessive, dirty, melodramatic, or smutty romance. I also prefer for the plot to have more going on than just romantic relationships.
-I like action/adventure stories, and those are usually shounen or seinen.
-I'm a sucker for 4-koma manga, cute & chibi drawings, and cute & happy slice of life comedies (Chii's Sweet Home, Hidamari Sketch, etc.). A lot of these are seinen.
I don't want to end up sounding like I hate shoujo and josei, though, because there are actually quite a few that I've read and liked/plan to read (about 1,500). I just like shounen and seinen much more.
I'm surprised there are so many people who don't have a preference... I would have guessed that most people preferred one over the other. Hm, maybe most people do end up reading more of one than the other, but what they mean is that they don't pay attention to demographics when they choose to read stuff. I mean, I don't, either, I just read what I like, but nevertheless what I like ends up being mostly shounen and seinen. Ah well, whatever.

Don't really care about the demographics but the writing has to be interesting and I've to be in the mood for it. I don't like most ecchi though.
I read anything... even shoujo and shounen, josei, seinen, yuri, boys love, etc., etc. As for shoujo, I stay clear of most err... giddy giddy romances. I did just re-read Legend of the sun knight which is satirical and Hana no Namae and some Ando Yuki stories.
Right now, I'm in the mood for action like Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Then there's Karneval, Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist and so on...

I read whatever I think is interesting really. Now I mostly read shounen/seinen and I'm a girl. That and yaoi. Not a lot of shojo that I read nowadays.
I could not care less about demographics as long as they are interesting I'll read anything!
