I read mainly shounen and seinen. I find their stories are a lot more interesting than the mainly school-life oriented stories of shoujo and the deep romances of josei. If anything, I tend to read those shoujo titles that don't involve the main plot only about getting a love life. I read the action/supernatural titles.
Yeah, most shounen may be all about a high school dummy saving the world, but their just more interesting than relationship stories to me. Plus, shounen has a lot of different themes and such.

Choice #1 for me.

Wheres the 'I generally read a particular genre/manga demographic, but I wouldnt mind reading something outside of it if it was good'?

I have read a couple shoujo and jousei that i like
but most of them are not to my liking

so its not like i avoid them
i try them
then stop reading them

when i first started reading manga i had no idea what shoujo, shounen, josei and seinen meant so i just went ahead and read whatever i came across and surprisingly nothing has changed 🙂
