was a serious comic junkie back in the day when they still cost like 1.99 for the issues. things turned bad quickly though and they started charging like 3.99 or more for only 30 pages, not exactly what I was willing to pay anymore.

"Back in the day they used to cost a few mere cents and you can ride the bus for 50 cents". 😛 I'm just quoting my old man like hell I'm that old. But yeah inflation blows.

I didn't vote because the choices are a little...yeah...
I read a lot of Marvel. In fact, I've a whole shelf worth of Marvel Comics. The Ultimate series definitely kicks ass. Love the art, and the stories. The only problem I find with reading Marvel and the like is that my eyes hurt after reading. Maybe it's the colors? 😐
I used to read Archie and Friends. I had a few volumes of them. I still read Foxtrot, Garfield, and Zits
('coz they're in the daily papers 🤣 )
So yeah...I read "American" comics. But not as much as my daily manga fix :uhuh:

:/ I didn't choose an answer because none of them apply to me. I only read one series, Sandman, so none of the 'no' answers work and since that's the only series I read, I don't know all the classics.
Would that even be considered an American comic?
Yes and I think that maybe 'comics from all around the world' may apply to you?
He's not American, though.
& I don't read comics from around the world. I read manga & manhwa. To me, 'around the world' means numerous countries, not just two.

Marvel, DC, Image, TopCow, so yeah I read them. Mainly because thats what my brother gets, though he'll read some of the manga I'll get every now and then like AirGear, Battle Royal and such.
Hell I even read W.I.T.C.H. and if I remember right. I believe thats actually an Italian made comic.

I grew up on Fantastic 4 and Spiderman, so, yeah. I remember them being pretty boring even when I was about 10.
Fortunately, British comics like 2000AD, Crisis, Revolver, Deadline maintained my fetish into my adulthood, and when I discovered manga it was like being reborn!

Is W.I.T.C.H. Italian? I can't find it in the US! I used to read that too.

Well, can't say I dig all those Marvel and DC superhero stuff. But, when I've the chance to, I'm going to get me them Kabuki series.
Hmmm... I also like Fable. American Virgin was interesting at first but it quickly degenerated into another sex kinda series. Bone was okay while 100 bullets was too depressing for me.

Damn I can't believe I didn't mention 2000AD. Slaine and Durham Red are two of my all-time favourite characters out there.

I read American comics my first comic book series I have ever read was spider-man (1992 maximum carnage plot arc.). Recently I have not read many American comics even though i did go on a spending spree in college where i bought a whole bunch of the comic books from when i was younger (death of superman, destruction of coast city, maximum carnage, green lantern green arrow). After rereading all that stuff in college i kind of wonder how i even understood it as a kid epically since about every five second i had to look up who characters were and how they related to other characters while rereading all the comics.

Yes but he lives here and the books were published here first.
