I've read comic strips that appear in the newspaper, like Garfield, Peanuts, Cathy, etc. never bothered with the superheros. But now I do read American comics that are influenced by manga.

oh heres something for u to ponder abt..do u noe the significant diff between marvel comics and dc comics?

dc comic heroes involves beings from other galaxies while marvel heroes is all abt earth ^^

AND....like...90% of the DC heroes have "man" at the end. 🤣

I started off with american comics. still read a few series here and there. bro still collects. still follows all his old series. read mostly Marvel stuff. like fantastic four (i'm not sure how i feel with em after that whole civil war thing. and inno if anyone in here wil understand what i'm talking about), captain america, ultimates stuff, thor, wolverine, y the last man, new avengers, hulk, new universal, cable, silver surfer, and think thats bout all the stuff i'm really reading at the moment. might be some other stuff and that's not counting old stuff that i pick up. or lil miniseries. or my all time favorite series... but yeah comics is probably were it all started for me.

and for anyone who's interested here's a coo lil site that helps you keep track of when your comics our out. you just sign up, enter what comics you wish to be notified of, and it supplies you with an rss feed that updates every time one of your comics is coming out.

I read a FEW as a kid; I think I once owned an issue or three of Aristocats or something, but that's it. Never was really interested in the whole "superhero" thing, also comics just weren't around where I lived - no comics shops (that I was aware of), not sold in regular stores, etc. I vaguely remember reading some of the Archie comics somewhere (my sister's house, maybe??), but wasn't too impressed. In Jr. High a friend of mine really got into Elf Quest and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a while so I read a couple of those but again, wasn't too impressed/interested.

I'd heard about manga but it wasn't until I picked one up at the library and actually READ it (Ranma 1/2 volume 2) that I had any interest in it. I've been hooked ever since. 😀

And eh...I didn't vote, because while I have no interest in US comics, I don't necessarily think "they suck".

Only manga at the moment, but I've fnished reading Fables last winter ( it was good!).

If you like "Fables", you should read Gaiman's "The Sandman". It'll make you dance and sing. 😉

Yes! Spiderman FTW!

At the moment it's all about the dark avengers. They're epic. Need to wait for that graphic novel to be comming out for that one 😃

I used to read some of what's assumed to be typical american comics; but now I read a different kind, no superheroes or anything.
I wish I could read a lot more though. It's funny I have access to a lot more manga that's all the way from Japan than the stuff that's produced here in this country. XD
Maybe I should try harder.

THE SANDMAN 😲
Best series ever.
Ever since then, I've occasionally picked up titles that aren't 'superhero' stories, and graphic novels.

I used to, but that was a long time ago. I never had a favorite, they were all fine.

I read American comics almost (if not more than) I do manga. Read both DC and Marvel. Trying to keep up on all the x-men comics coming out lately.

I read plenty of independent comics as well, (Walking Dead, Spawn, etc).

A big fan of the Deadpool series and such too.

I did, I liked it better than the movie. I read alot of Dark Horse, I was following the Black Lighting limited series and also X-Infernus. I started reading The Flash Rebirth, I read more manga though since I dont have to really spend that much for it
