glasses/contacts

I wear glasses. But I haven't had the grade readjusted yet so I haven't been using it. I haven't worn contacts ever. I'm afraid to try it. 🤢 My classmate once told me a disaster where she forgot to take it off before sleeping. And when she woke up, her eyes were VERY irritated and the contacts won't come off. In the end, she had to go to the hospital and she had her eyes scraped. She even told me about the blade scraping her eyes. Uugh! It's so scary.

I am myopic and astigmatic. My long sight's only some 30-35 cm. Any farther than that, and it's all a blurry image. So I have been pretty much wearing glasses since 3rd grade. While I am not exactly crazy about them, I am too much of a scaredy cat to wear contacts or get my eyesight corrected. I once heard this story about a person who stared at a campire for about 15 minutes with her contacts on. Seems the contacts melted on her eyes. Now that's a scary story as well.
So I figure its glasses for me. They are pretty much a part of me. I wear them as soon as I wake up and put them away only when I go back to sleep.

That's another scary story. I don't think I'll ever try contacts. LOL

Have you ever tried wearing contacts? What color would you like?
My brother saw a sharingan one in fb and I swear, he almost fainted with delight.

No. He's such a cheapskate. He wouldn't buy it from his allowance and Mom won't buy it for him.
I heard it's difficult to wear red ones because it has less visibility. I'm not so sure though. I think it was from the Twilight Saga interviews. They wore bright red contacts there.

I'm need glasses to read things far away so I'm near-sighted. I hate wearing glasses though so I only were them when I absolutely have to. I can't wear contacts. My eyes are sensitive and just thinking about putting something in my eyes makes them burn. (Eye drops suck!) It looks painful, since I've seen my brother put contacts in and it does not look easy.
Remembrance, a forsaken thing that revokes ignorance and leaves people in doubt, is my only redemption and solace deep within the cascade of white.

So many people scared of contacts! 😔
Everyone's different, but I wore soft contacts for 25+ years & never had a serious problem.
The worst I had to deal with was getting pinkeye from my kids, & that just meant wearing glasses for a few days & disinfecting the contacts really well.
Second worst, having the contact rip in half while I was wearing it & having to get the pieces out of my eye (which sounds a lot worse than it was, it wasn't really a big deal as your eye automatically works to get foreign objects out).
I did occasionally fall asleep with my contacts in, and sometimes they were a little stuck, but they always came off pretty easily - maybe it's a worse problem if you have dry eyes? Or maybe if you just use a little sense and drench 'em with saline they'll rehydrate and come loose again...
As far as staring at the campfire fusing the lenses to the cornea, I've had lenses dry out quite a bit from staring at a fire, and then when you blink they kind of pop out. Snopes says this one is false, btw. 🤨
At first it was weird to stick something in my eye, but after a while I didn't even need to use a mirror to get them in properly - just open the case, rinse the lens, and pop it in.
For me contacts were way better than glasses, and LASIK has been way better than contacts. 😃
