@Takiko--->I'm not sure there's a reason why I shouldn't hate a character...it's not like I tore her apart for all that she is; I just said I hate her. And when I say that, I mean I extremely dislike her, but again, is there a reason I shouldn't? 😕 Like if you're offended or something, I'm sorry 🙁 but I stand by my "I hate Kagome" statement. It's just my opinion.

eeekkk.... seems I got flamed for my post. I wasn't actually trying to offend anyone, and I wasn't intentionally making a distinction between the words with the post title and in the discussion. What I meant was I see any airheaded character (aka: Mia, Serena and Miaka) as the worst characters because of how annoying they are, and I therefore dislike them, though I don't know how well that message came across. plus those three were just an example anyway.

hehe... well, anyway, rather than go to deep into that, I'll just ask are any other characters that people see as the worst or are very annoying?

I actually hate certain shoujo mangaka rather than the characters since, the writer is the one that creates them.
Yuu Watase.....Because she makes her lead characters boring, plain and irritating, yet somehow that's exactly what male bishounen are looking for?

Aahhh I agree with you on how she doesn't know how to end a story. I didn't like the way she ended Hot Gimmick 😔 !!

Anyhow I'm surprised no one mentioned Tohru from Fruits Basket. She was too much of a goodie goodie, it's so unrealistic and annoying.

deelink-san--Eeep! You just mentioned my "guilty pleasure reads" manga-ka. Those whose titles I read while looking furtively from side to side to see if anyone is watching but still can't stop anyway... 🤣 And while I agree that Watase-sensei, Shinjo-sensei, and Aihara-sensei's heroines are simply talking plot devices and some (most, if not all?) plot developments outrage, I still end up devouring them.

It's the art. sigh Bishounen are wub. Nuff sed 😀

I have to agree with you there, melee86-san. With the notable exception of Tanpopo from Imadoki!, Watase Yuu-sensei's female leads make my grrr meter climb wildly into the red.

I hate Miaka from Fushiige Y...whatever...And I also hate all of Yuu Watase's characters. They all look like sisters and brothers; and basically have no life or personality. I mean they all look like dingo heads, act like pathetic losers, and sucks as characters. How can a mangaka use the same characters over and over and over again.

If Last Exile was based on a manga, then Lavie is the worst character ever. I seriously have to get up and leave the room every time she shows up because she irritates the crap out of me. She just pushes and pushes to get her way and then balls like a 2 yr old when she gets in over her head. And she's soo bossy.

But, er..definitley a manga character: Yoh's sister from Koukou Debut. She is so back and forth. First she's all buddy buddy with Haruna, then she 180's and then back. Sometimes she has a lot of personality and then she's has the personality of Plank (from Ed, Edd, and Eddie). It's like the author couldn't decide how she should be written. Geh. twitch

My most hated character is definitely the main character of hot gimmick.
I also hated Niina of Hanasaki Sentimental, because he was so irritating. Why do you keep holding on to some irritating chick! Just touch the girl xD

😲 I was just about to mention these three manga-ka! That was a bit creepy, but I wholly agree! I don't know why they kept having annoying airheads as the main protagonist.
