totally agree! though main characters in smut mangas that in my opinion qualify as rapists tend to really irritate me doubly.

shoujo leads i hate... let's see... pretty much most of watase yuu's characters (sorry to her fans... don't kill me...ducks behind stack of mangas ^_^😉. Not because they're dumb. I've got nothing against dumb characters (at least academically dumb ones). Because when you think about it, intelligence is pretty much like beauty, isnt it? it's something you're already born with, so what's the point of being proud of, or bragging about it? that would just be being superficial... (and btw, psychology has defined intelligence as something innate).

what i hate, and really really hate though, are weak, useless, helpless, damsel in distress type of characters, who do nothing but whimper cutely. >:-(

The worts shoujo characters are those defenseless, useless girls that can't resist to the main bishounen and can make all the other guys fall in love with her. That includes Hot Gimmick and all Mayu Shinjo mangas.

Okay, seriously, READ THE THREAD TOPIC. I'm sick of reading this thread and seeing everyone's opinions on shounen manga heroines, who are for a different audience and in different situations. This is about shoujo manga, is it not? Then discuss shoujo series!

I actually really like Usagi from Sailor Moon. Yes, she's stupid, but that's not portrayed as a good thing (in the anime, anyway). Besides, what makes everyone like her is her strong will and courage, which she definitely does have. She grows as a character in that way.

I also hate smut manga characters, though. They have no personality whatsoever... they're always nice, innocent girls who are seduced by a man and yet have no will or power to fight back. I honestly find myself hoping that they'll all get shot or something and the hero will just shrug and walk away calmly.

I also hate those "perfect" heroines - you know, the beautiful, talented girls who aren't usually popular yet really have no personality faults besides being innocent and maybe having a low mark or two in one subject. To me, they seem like complete morons... and not morons like Miaka or Usagi, either. The latter pair are stupid, yes, but it's not like people aren't aware of this, or don't point it out. The perfect little girls are never said to be actually stupid, they never eat a lot, they only trip and fall in romantic situations... they have no real personality whatsoever.

Hatsumi Narita from Hot Gimmick reeeally annoys me. Her sister, Akane, reeeally annoyed me, too. >_<

Frankly, I expected Azusa would do something like that anyway. ._.

gotta agree, she really bugs me, which is one reason why I only got half way through the manga

Each and every heroine from Minami Kanan's and Shinjo Mayu's works.
They're stupid, dull, helpless and their conscience is on a lower level than the conscience of an animal.

Basically, their role is only to be stalked/harassed/molested by the main guy 😐 when they're so freaking useless, why not kick them out completely? 😐

Well, I can't say I hate Miaka and Aya, they really matured through-out the series. Runs from sticks and stones.

I think the worst Shoujo characters are the ones that are helpless. People who do care, but don't insert any effort to even 'try' to help. Sure, you have a 'great' personality, but I much prefer it when they step in the field and work a little. I'm not gonna name anyone, since there's no need for that. Also the girls who are over-optimistic. O.x; I'm an optimist myself, but.. 🤨

Personally, I think Miaka is the worst shoujo character, not because she's really stupid or because she eats like a pig (which I do 😛 ) but because she's such a wimp!! Like holy crap, all she does is cry for help; can't even do anything herself. Unfortunately, yuu watase's characters seem to follow that line.

I don't like the main character of Koukou Debut either... mostly because she thinks that love is like the most important thing ever and that it's some sort of ritual to become a teenager or something :S

now I know must of you will hate me for saying this but I really do. I find (ANd you know I love Otomen, he's just so adorable) You know how before everyone found out that Akito was a woman they said he somewhat fought like a girl. The scratching, the hair pulling, calling girls ugly, and being surrounded by men. Well it's sorta like that for me. Yul fights or at least acts like a girl. Not doing things up front, sneaking behind people's back, setting people up. He seriously irks me. Also, the whole thing of breaking up a marriage rubs me the wrong way. (Meaning people that do that should be shot) Just because he's pretty the fangirls feel bad for him. Yet, for some reason there is no sympathy for Hyo Lin who has done the same thing as him, but to a lesser extent. Yeah Yul plz die, kthx 😀

Also, the person who posted about using hate toward a character. I don't use hate to describe anyone I know or others I don't. It's an extremely strong word and I don't have such a dislike of anyone. And I can understand what you mean a bit. When I hear people say they want Rukia to die I don't understand and sometimes I can get quite mad. >O I love her that much ^^;
