this thread really fascinated me.
well im a horror movie buff and i do read violent mangas like Gantz, Battle Royale, Elfen Lied and stuff, and I thought they're violent enough that there are no other manga that can challenge them.
after reading this thread from the beginning, seems that i'm wrong and that there is another dimension of manga that are not discovered by me yet.

Hmm...does the time I accidentally wandered into a hentai shop in Akihabara count?
It was a while ago, but I remember being disturbed by the ~3rd grader in a wheelchair being tentacle raped.
Hahahha, oh wow. Oh Japan, you come up with the kookiest things.
now that's just sick!

Mine was all those stupid ecchi harems because nothing in the world can compare with their idiocy and sexism.
No
I don't get scared over manga...
It's bcoz there's no sound effect in manga...
for me, i can't stand horror movies,
but not American horror...
the only American horror movies i can't stand is SAW I, II, III, and so on. Particulary because there's no story, just move to one terrible scene to another terrible scene..

Well, Riki-Oh didn't exactly scar me, but it made me almost throw up my dinner when I first started reading it.

I never really got scarred but the following mangas came close to leaving me scarred as I found the following three to be rather disturbing in decreasing order of impact ---------
1)School Days (the ending came out of nowhere, as I havent watched the anime and a seemingly beautiful, peaceful, highscool triangle love story suddenly turned vicious on me without giving me any chance to brace myself...left me with a real bitter taste in my mouth for days...not to mention it was one of the very first mangas I read)
2)Mon Seul ( a pedophile is actually seemingly in the right while the guy who was opposing him was apparently in the wrong and in their way of twisted love after having taken care of the victim all his life both his bastard best-friend and ungrateful underage sister give him hell and even after all that he takes care of that ungrateful wench)
3)Teacher's Pet (a rape victim who is a teacher doesnt even shed a tear after getting raped by her student who is also the younger brother of her Fiance' and goes to have more sex with him while the elder brother was equally sick with his fetishes and she seemed to enjoy those as well...athough I could kind of undersand the elder's reason for anger)

Well, Death Note, I would say for me. It is an horror story about a notebook that kills the person whose name is written on the note would die a death. The notebook gets dropped by god into the human world and a guy finds it, then he starts killing criminals and stuff its a very good manga and very addictive.

Hahahaha.
Ranma hentai was my turning point. 🙂
It was before onemanga/mangafox existed (well now they don't have it either, but this was way long ago) So I was 10-ish and addicted to Ranma 1/2 and no one I knew read manga then.
I spent hours on google looking for scanlations, where I found the New Ranma 1/2 Project (sound familiar, anyone?) which was hosted on a hentai site. Of course I didn't know that and spent my time consuming Ranma happily until one day I noticed the "Home" link.

Some really explicit yaoi back in the days when I first found out about shounen-ai.... must have been something like Under Grand Hotel (which I looked up lately and found it much less disturbing though utterly uninteresting due to a severe lack of sense...).
I do appreciate nice, angsty school-boy BL though. 😳
No hentai-experiences for me and after that unwanted expedition into the steamy world of fangirls, I rather not bend my luck.

I was pretty sure I was freaked out by a lot of things. Particularly one chapter in Franken Fran, but it only took me like 2days to completely forget about it. There are always scenes that I thought were completely unnecessary in a lot of seinen. But if anything will make me change my outlook on manga, it will probably be lurking somewhere in the doujins. Which is why I don't read doujins ^^

Been about a year.
I'm still the same unscarred-by-manga person.
You could say I'm even stronger now.
I've been reading more disturbing things and have
yet to be scarred.
It's the fujoshi special power.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.
