Heya gurls and or guys ( Whoooooo! this is my third poll) One Question is Mahou shoujo ( Magical girls ) used to much in the shoujo genre. Like really i think it might be light a girl who found out she was special or she was the princess of mermaid ( you know what im talking about ) it's not like i dont enjoy the mahou shoujo genre but i think sometimes it gets over used. The girl/boy(?) always has a transforming sequence and they have a boy/girl they like but dont want to know about thheir secert because it's forbidden or something like that maybe it's just me.
One more thing if you know a mahou shoujo with a boy as a mahou shoujo 😀 pleasew dont hesitate you tell me 🙂

Fear is something that is created when you anxiety is around. Life and death are not to far but in fact very close. You will be forgotten when you die.

I think there is a large amount of it in shoujo, yes, but I also think it's declining in popularity. I started reading manga when CardCaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon were at the height of popularity and it created some sort of boom in mahou shoujo. There was a year where only mahou shoujos were the weekly series in a shoujo magazine. XD

I don't like the subgenre anymore. I think it is repetitive by now. So to answer your question, because it seems like every kind of storyline has been done in the past years, yes, it is getting used to it. They don't try to deviate from the kind of stories Sailor Moon and other older mahou shoujos created. I don't know, I see that subgenre at a standstill right now. It needs some originality.

as for the topic I don't read a lot of shoujo so it doesn't bother me. As for the genre, though it may vary in popularity, it will never be completely gone.
