sadly no, common sense tells me they would just make another thread. But wishful thinking helps me sleep at night.

Anyway you're probably right. It would be abused and if you really felt you should apologize a pm would work just as well

The thread gets locked for various reasons.

Even if the creator got the final post, if he didn't cause the issue that caused it to be locked in the first place, than it would be pointless.

Locking topics is to stop discussion, whether it be against the rules, or whether it be done.

Take, for example, this discussion.

It's done, so this thread is going to be locked.

Based on your belief, you believe that after I do so, you should still be able to say something.

Plain and simple, the answer is no. Things get locked for various reasons. After which those who were in the conversation can feel free to think about why it was locked. Hopefully, in the case of a spam or rule breaking thread, they will come to understand this fact, and not do it again.

What you propose gives them every oppertunity to try again, as well as attempt to undermine the authority that the Administration and Moderation teams hold.

That is unallowable. It's asinine for you to even believe that this would be accepted.

Not only is it asinine, the amount of coding that would need to be done would be annoyingly time consuming, and the fact that every topic would have to remember its creator for a final post if it gets locked would probably slow down the site, as well.

I've made every attempt in this post to clearly explain my reasoning to you. Considering that I am locking the thread since it is no longer up for discussion, you can feel free to PM if you do not understand something I said, or to give me your further thoughts and opinions on the subject.

Also, as a side note, I am quite shocked you didn't lock this already, Lamb. Have you been working yourself too hard?
