Best quality trait a person can have-
What do you think is the best trait a person can have?

Please a max of 5 traits (but only one preferably), and if more than one trait is listed rank them.

Seeing as it's against forum rules to leave one word posts, explain why you think it's the best trait anyone could have.

EDIT:
Yes of course if someone has too much of one trait that would no longer be the best thing in that person. Yes, it's the mixture of all traits that a person has that would make that person great. I just wanted to know what trait you think would score major brownie points if that person had it. That if this person had this one trait they are already a good person ... If that makes sense ...
Sorry for being lazy >.< , but I'm happy you guys understood what I meant.

For me the best trait anyone could have would be honesty. Someone able to tell the truth no matter what situation is by far the best trait IMO. ... Gee it's kind of hard to explain why I think it's the best ...
Ummm I guess it's mainly because I dislike people who beat around the beat, someone that's blunt and honest seems to shine to me.

Pride.

I dislike people who just... well, I dunno, it just seems to me people are worthless and useless without it. I cannot bring myself to respect them. No one needs to remind me that it's a "sin" lol.

I think as long as someone is proud, they will act accordingly and will not embarrass themselves. It doesn't matter if they're actions is good or bad, but as long as they don't fall ooc, they will follow through their actions. And besides, people with a lot of pride tends to have the abilities that go with it. I have that strong dislike... disgust, for useless people. Yes, pride is the one and only trait I require to see in a person for me to like them, at least when it isn't personal.

Well... i earnestly believe that a person can not be defined by a single trait/character... he/she is rather an effect of a mix of many different characters working together or against.

But... i do understand the topic you have started...so i will just pick 2 traits that i have in my mind, at the moment..

  1. Just : The ability to understand what is wrong and what is right, at least from their own point of view.
  2. Resolve : To be steadfast, To be courageous, to move forward with determination and will power to do so, To act with an undying will.

PS: Being "Just" is great. But you can not be "Just" if you don't have the "Resolve" to act upon your justice. But then again...if you only have "resolve" but can not find a justified answer to your problems... having "resolve" doesn't really help much.

Well I'm a firm believer in that too much of one thing is a bad thing. So any "best quality trait" can ultimately become a bad trait as well...

But I guess for me, the BEST quality I can find in a person is kindness. I am drawn to people who are naturally kind and caring. I don't mean kindness as in preachy people or Mary Sue's.
From my experience, I actually dislike people who seem really "nice" and cheery, as in forcefully nice. People who usually come off as really kind, too kind, are actually people who are trying hard to give off the image of being known as a nice person.

I especially enjoy getting to know people deeper, and being surprised to find out how nice they are, never expecting it. The kindest people I know are the ones I never expected to be.

The right timing to being kind and having empathy is such a wonderful thing. I really think that today, there a lot of people in this world who don't care about others, are selfish, and aren'y genuine or good people. I want to be around people who are positive and have a good time with them without needing to be negative or unkind.
