I have to say it's a little hard to imagine a woman in labor fighting off the kyuubi.

slowly but surely, the photoshop skills are coming. Very slowly.

Naruto's mother is described as having a personality like Naruto. So I doubt she is alive-she would have stuck by her son, no matter what.
My guess has always been that she died in labour or shortly after. It is possible that she continued to fight the kyuubi after giving birth-possibly helping to seal it or dying as part of the process.

I found it a bit odd that Naruto's father did not mention anything about Kushina during their discussion. An extra line or two to explain things might have helped. Or that no other character has said anything about her death to Naruto.

Sorry to say but no Naruto new manga next week. Was written on bottom of this weeks chapter unless that is a prank which is also highly likely.
