Wind can pick up rocks

Wind can chill someone to ice

Wind has its more uses

I was always fond of Lightning. Then my DS would always be charged. Hopefully I don't get mad while playing it though, I might fry it.

If we're talking about complete control of a particular element, then lightning. It seems to be the most useful, especially now where essentially everything is run by electricty. But if we're talking about how elemental chakra is used in the naruto universe, then either earth (like how Gaara uses sand) or water (like how Kisame uses water).
