Nice One Manick!

I got it two days ago as well, but I have been playing hard mode the whole time and decided to go for expert today.

What do you think of the song selection? I thought it was just okay compared to the last two GH games. There were a lot better songs to come out of the 80s and I know Activision could afford the license these days.

God, I want 80's but don't want to shell out 50 bucks for what technically boils down to an expansion.

it's even less than an expansion. they changed the colors and the songs. that's it. completely. all the animations, all the characters, all everything is exactly the same.. definitely not worth 50 bucks...

but honestly i like the song selection better than guitar hero 2 for how they sound and play.

Maybe I should try gamefly come this fall since there are so many games coming out that I'd be broke if I had a job, plus they have Guitar Hero rocks the 80's.

I don't think I'm gonna bother with GH 80's since GH III will be around sooner or later and the song lineup looks good. Hopefully it works on the PS2 'cause I don't have cash for a PS3 right now.

But anyway...ROCK BAND!!! Check out July's issue of Game Informer next time you're in the bookstore for the dl. Huge article in there all about it. This game is gonna be so fricken sweet, I'll buy a new console just so I can play it.

Why do people forget about the 360? I mean the system is cheaper than a PS3, and the only downside is that you have to pay to play with others online. I know that if I get Rock Band I'll be getting it for the 360.

If they release it for the PS2 it will be playable. The big publishers usually don't release games that don't work.

I guess I should have worded it better, but maybe since they are developing for the PS2 too that the performance on the next gen consoles may take a hit.

yup, ima get rock band for the 360, i've heard about rock the 80's my friend has it and i cant really buy anything since i have to save up for a trip to the Philippines reaal soon, they said they changed a shit load of stuff in there like the fret board colors and stuff >> man i really wanna play something new, ive already played gh2 so much i got tired of it and now i just play gh1 cuz i liike the songs better >> still get my ass kicked cuz of the pull offs and hammers in gh1, at least i can still beat the songs and get a decent score

So haven't played this game in a while. only song i haven't beat on hard is freebird. i haven't tried it yet though. not that the orange button transition has gotten all that great. i can't seem to do the hammer ons and pull offs. or w/e they are called at will. it just kinda happens. when i think about it it never works lol.

on the other hand i have watched and tried to play some crazy songs on expert with friends. for all of you who can play those really hard songs......wtf?!?!?! some of those songs have like 5 hits within a second on the same color. literally like impossible to do. that is what really pissed me off. made the game no fun at all. friends said the same thing. they can do it. hell they do it just to beat it but only because they haven't beat it. otherwise they state that it is just ghey.

is there a secret to strumming it that fast? anyone have any tips?

i suck at fast strumming.. turn on hyperspeed.. it helps to spread out the notes. It's a cheat code, OBOYOBOY for gh2 at the main menu.

Oh, and kami.. decrease the height of your signature.. it's way too large.. i prefer 100-150 pix height max.

i'll have to try that out. those fast parts are depressing. it would be nice if there was a status bar of sorts telling u which one's u missed while playing. would clutter up screen a bit but w/e lol

Finished Six on Hard, 78%.

Havn't been playing much lately, or at all. Didn't buy 80's Edition (The price and the amount of content do not please me, so I am vetoing it for now).

Honestly, I was looking more forward to Rock Band than GH3, but lately, I am more looking forward to GH3. Alot of the tracks for GH3 have been announced, and alot of them look awesome.

Rock Band hasn't announced alot, but the fact that its an entire band makes it look like alot more fun than GH. Also, they announced full albums for download. Thats not only innovative, its awesome.

They did announce Rock Band for PS2, however, I heard the PS2 version wouldn't release until next year, where as the Next Gen version is due out in November 10th.

Knowing me, I'll wind up getting both, because both will have their own pros and cons.
