New Poll - Best Shoujo

I guess the question is whether the mods were looking specifically at shoujo as Japanese demographic audience or just using it to generally refer to the Asian comics published for the female demographic.
No.
On MU, it seems to be the latter since there is obviously no Shaonu demographic.
No, MU is just not that strict, with just including manga, as novels, Western manga-inspired comics and non-Japanese Asian comics are all included in MU
No one would argue that novels are manga.
Thus it is quite clear that a series being in MU, doesn't mean that it is manga.
Also, you should delete the "https://" from your link since it's not working.
The "https://" is supposed to be there ...it's the extra "http://" that the MU forum automatically adds (making it "http://https://"), for some bizarre reason, that messes things up.
If it didn't automatically try to correct things, then it would work perfectly ...and this is far from the first time, or the only type of situation, I've encountered, where the MU forum's "corrections" makes a mess of things...
Removing both "http" bits, solved the problem.
How can it just be no, it's a poll on MU asking about what's best on MU. MU is not being strict therefore it is used to generally refer to comics for the female demographic. It doesn't mean that the definition of "shoujo" is comics for the female demographic, it's just MU using that word in that way.
As an aside, words change in meaning and this is one way it starts, by pushing the boundaries of the original meaning.
And yes, I know the "https://" is supposed to be there and MU adds an extra one that's why I suggested that you remove it from your link since it solves the problem, you're being just a bit patronizing.

...
That's a very good point.
Fair enough, I guess.
I take back my complaint, then.

Why didn't you mention the "http://", then? Having a "http://" there, makes it wrong, so...
The absence of that, made me, assume that you did not know ...as it naturally would.
you're being just a bit patronizing.
How so?
Why should I assume that everyone I speak to, knows every detail?
An explanation, when it isn't needed, is better than a lack of an explanation, when one is ...and if someone explains something, that doesn't necessarily indicate an assumption that you don't know, but a lack of an assumption that you necessarily do (and why should they have such an assumption? Keep in mind that people on the internet don't know all about you, nor are they able to read your mind) ...or it might even be mostly for the benefit of others, reading the thread.
Furthermore, ignorance isn't (necessarily) stupidity.
We are all ignorant about tons of things, and we can't all be bothered to be informed about everything, so there is nothing insulting or particularly bad, about the occasional bit of ignorance (I, for example, didn't know that the MU forum would mess up that link, for me)
I mentioned the "https://" because usually when you're adding a link to the [ url = ], you're the one including the "https://" in the link, at least all the links I use are "https://" so if you remove it from the link in the post, then there is no problem. That is why I suggested you to remove it from the link. I didn't mention the "http://" because you don't actually remove that from your post, the person who clicks the link would have to remove it to see where the link goes. I don't actually see how it would naturally make you assume that I didn't know, I suggested the removal of it from your link (I assumed you would understand I meant that you should edit your post), not the url you would see when you click it, so wouldn't that naturally mean I know what I'm talking about?
And the patronizing comment wasn't just for the linking, though I can see how you would assume that. It's how you worded your post, not the information your post provided. The blatant "No" for one just shuts down dialogue and says that you are correct and that's it. So that along with the linking stuff just made you seem patronizing to me. (Really though, it was the "No" that bugged me.)
Edit: Right, and I think if we want to continue discussing this it will have to be over PM, it's gotten a bit away from the thread.

...so it would still not work, then?
I don't actually see how it would naturally make you assume that I didn't know
...because you already have the assumptions that resulted in your writing what you did, and why.
I suggested the removal of it from your link (I assumed you would understand I meant that you should edit your post), not the url you would see when you click it
The address, as written in the post, began with a "http://https://" ...and that's where it would lead you, if you clicked on it.
The URL, as you would see it, when you had the mouse over, however, didn't contain the initial "http://".
In other words, you need to remove both the "http://" and "https://".
The blatant "No" for one just shuts down dialogue and says that you are correct and that's it.
I expanded on and explained how and why, what you said was wrong (though not there, but further down, in that same comment).
How is that shutting down dialogue or just saying I'm correct, and "that's that"?

Whoa, how is Ouran winning? I wonder whether that's evidence of its high popularity or the drop in Skip Beat's popularity... And yes, I say popularity 'cos this kind of poll has F-all to do with actual quality. The poll titles should be "Most popular shoujo/shounen/seinen/josei," not "best."
There's only one manga out of these options I've read, never felt the desire to read a single other title here. (Generic YA romance, bore) I voted for Natsume Yuujinchou, obviously.

Whoa, whoa. Ouran won!? And to think I actually imagined Natsume had a chance of beating it for 2nd place 😮
Well... I guess this goes to show how little in touch I am with fandom these days. I still read manga as much as I used to, but I quit fandom as a whole ages ago.

I've had TK on my computer for ages, but your comment spurred me on to nudge it way up my "To read" list. Thanks for that!

I'm glad Skip Beat didn't win. It seems the shoujo fandom isn't that lost nowadays... Because... Best shoujos? None of those that make it to the poll.
Fruits Basket, Kare Kano, Mars, Cat Street (!!!!!), Ludwig Kakumei, Kanata Kara, Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu, Reimei no Arcana, Taiyou no Ie... Even Sailor Moon! Those are my top shoujo choices, no doubt about it.
