No one would argue that novels are manga.
Thus it is quite clear that a series being in MU, doesn't mean that it is manga.

The "https://" is supposed to be there ...it's the extra "http://" that the MU forum automatically adds (making it "http://https://"), for some bizarre reason, that messes things up.

If it didn't automatically try to correct things, then it would work perfectly ...and this is far from the first time, or the only type of situation, I've encountered, where the MU forum's "corrections" makes a mess of things...
Removing both "http" bits, solved the problem.

How can it just be no, it's a poll on MU asking about what's best on MU. MU is not being strict therefore it is used to generally refer to comics for the female demographic. It doesn't mean that the definition of "shoujo" is comics for the female demographic, it's just MU using that word in that way.

As an aside, words change in meaning and this is one way it starts, by pushing the boundaries of the original meaning.

An explanation, when it isn't needed, is better than a lack of an explanation, when one is ...and if someone explains something, that doesn't necessarily indicate an assumption that you don't know, but a lack of an assumption that you necessarily do (and why should they have such an assumption? Keep in mind that people on the internet don't know all about you, nor are they able to read your mind) ...or it might even be mostly for the benefit of others, reading the thread.

Furthermore, ignorance isn't (necessarily) stupidity.
We are all ignorant about tons of things, and we can't all be bothered to be informed about everything, so there is nothing insulting or particularly bad, about the occasional bit of ignorance (I, for example, didn't know that the MU forum would mess up that link, for me)

That is why I suggested you to remove it from the link. I didn't mention the "http://" because you don't actually remove that from your post, the person who clicks the link would have to remove it to see where the link goes. I don't actually see how it would naturally make you assume that I didn't know, I suggested the removal of it from your link (I assumed you would understand I meant that you should edit your post), not the url you would see when you click it, so wouldn't that naturally mean I know what I'm talking about?

And the patronizing comment wasn't just for the linking, though I can see how you would assume that. It's how you worded your post, not the information your post provided. The blatant "No" for one just shuts down dialogue and says that you are correct and that's it. So that along with the linking stuff just made you seem patronizing to me. (Really though, it was the "No" that bugged me.)

Whoa, how is Ouran winning? I wonder whether that's evidence of its high popularity or the drop in Skip Beat's popularity... And yes, I say popularity 'cos this kind of poll has F-all to do with actual quality. The poll titles should be "Most popular shoujo/shounen/seinen/josei," not "best."

There's only one manga out of these options I've read, never felt the desire to read a single other title here. (Generic YA romance, bore) I voted for Natsume Yuujinchou, obviously.

i know almost none of those shoujos o_o lol. and the ones i do know i dropped/forgot about a long time ago. ouran used to be good, awesome even, but then it stopped being funny and brought in typical shoujo drama. not voting in this one.

Well... I guess this goes to show how little in touch I am with fandom these days. I still read manga as much as I used to, but I quit fandom as a whole ages ago.

I'm glad Skip Beat didn't win. It seems the shoujo fandom isn't that lost nowadays... Because... Best shoujos? None of those that make it to the poll.

Fruits Basket, Kare Kano, Mars, Cat Street (!!!!!), Ludwig Kakumei, Kanata Kara, Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu, Reimei no Arcana, Taiyou no Ie... Even Sailor Moon! Those are my top shoujo choices, no doubt about it.
