On the topic of girl gamers... I have been around the block when it comes to arcades and tournaments to know there is a whole league of women waiting to beat down any guy at any game 🤣 This includes so called "guy" games like Halo or Guilty Gear (I've seen an amazing May play before). It's not an issue of whether women play games or not, it's an issue of whether they play/practice a lot.

On a different note... I would love to play anyone at SSBM. I am pretty tough as Ganondorf, and if it's PokeMans we are talking about then post up a FC and let the battles begin (assuming there are other D/P players)!

Edit: And Guilty Gear as well. I'm not as good as a lot of people out there, but I do well as Sol-Badguy.

In a MMORPG I assume that a female character is usually a guy. And that is only because of my previous experience at World Of Warcraft. And that is because more than 80% of the female characters I played with where actually played by guys. And they even where offended when anyone thought they where girls... talk about stupid...
Well I didn't really care, I was there to play, as long as my party members where good I could care less about their genders IRL.
But there is also the girls who seems to expect to be treated differently just because they are girls in an mmo... I've seen some. Not all are that way, but they sure do give a bad reputation.

And about classes stereotypes, among all the girls I played with in WoW, there was very few that where actually healers. I was a healer on the other hand...

And about not wanting to lose to a girl? well of course, I don't want to lose to anyone, the gender doesn't matter there. If I'm playing I like to win. I am just as annoyed when I'm beaten by a guy, a girl, or a pokemon.

I do think, and actually hope, that there are more and more female gamers out there. There just is enough right now. I'm in computer engineering, and in a class of 50 we have as much as 4 girls...

I'm ok without practicing, too... I think the whole guys-are-better-than-girls-at-games thing is very outdated! I'm actually majoring in animation with the purpose of either becoming a game designer/programmer or a comic writer, so I kind of face this stereotype all the time x.x...

There have been a few times where I've jumped in a multiplayer fighting or first-person shooter game and everyone has assumed that the player "agizgal" must be some guy in the room, when really it was me kicking their butts. 😉

Yeah, my parents bought my brother a sega when I was 5, and you can imagine the types of games he got me hooked to, haha! I think once you've played any type of game a lot, you just pick up on the new ones that much faster...?

I think so, you get used to the tricks. I've played James Bond, Star Wars, Need for Speed, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Mario (and assorted sports)... you get the picture.

Ditto! My brothers got me hooked on first-person shooters and typical fighting games (Tekken, etc.), and I got myself hooked on RPG's and classics, haha. I never got into sports games, though... My brothers keep trying to crack me, but I just can't get as excited about them haha!
